this is rather odd, if this is the update, hell has frozen over...sunday would be so strange.

i was planning on finally going to bed (it's 4:18 EDT) and now this has me up... what a geek, and i got a new ibook last december (been enjoying the 7 months of still being the top-of-the line, maxed out machine), so clearly not in the market even...

Shush! Let Apple do their Sunday update. Maybe then all us iBook waiters can finally get on with our lives.

It says they will be back in an "Hour" so if we wait one hour we will find out whether or not we have new ibooks>?

I don't know. I hope they aren't toying with us. I should be sleeping but the wording "within the hour" keeps me reloading the page hoping.

"back within an hour" is simply the default message.

who knows.

i'd be shocked if they updated today, but i've been shocked many times before.

Even though Apples never done a weekend update before (in Buyer's Guide history), maybe they are experimenting this time to see how a Sunday update would go and if it would actually be easier for them to do in the future.

Maybe they decided to do the update when they reached their 500,000,000 th download on itunes?

well by updating on a sunday, for what it's worth, they get a full week of sales, and a full week of july in on a new product...

full week of sales would seem to make more sense than dumping a new product during the middle of the week, to me at least...then you get buzz monday morning and could potentially spur some sort of buying phenomenon...

One would think it'd be easy enough for them to slip a Sunday/3:30am (CDT) update in without us noticing. But apparently not.

The UK store and the UK education store is down too.

Come on... I want a new Mac Mini...

I guess it's just my wishful thinking. I've actually been so obsessed with these inevitable updates that I've had several dreams-within-a-dream about getting up, walking downstairs, checking the apple page, finding a beautiful new ibook, and over again until I actually do it and find nothing but the wretched iTunes page. Oh well, I won't be dreaming tonight for another hour it seems.

If there are some nice iBook/Mac Mini updates released tonight (this morning), who among us will be in line when our local Apple Store opens?

german store is down too....

will be my first apple mac if the ibooks have the right specs otherwise i wait for a new powerbook. (no lectures till october so i hope for september updates)

I think it's the surprise release of 10.5 "leopard" and the Intel PowerMac. Um, what else? Ooh! the Video iPod too with a flip up screen and colour-changing case.

Silly, you forgot the phone! :p

Store down in AU too.

There will NOT be intel updates until next year some time. If they update them products now, it will time a release of intel version around april next year which would fit.

Gee I thought a fellow aussie would recognise sarcasm when they see it.

Another thing to add to the update, the XStation.
