I wouldn't if I were you, Turkey moved the decimal point of their currency several places to the left at the beginning of the year.
Actually several places to the right, since Turkish is written from right to left.

hey Hiyel, if Turkey just became part of the EU, why wouldn't they just switch to the euro instead of creating a new currency?

Yeah, that's really interesting what some people think:

I bet a million Turkish Liras, they write from right to left.

:) Easy men, not yet... The negotiations are still going on.
BTW we didn't quite create a new currency, just chopped of six zeros and called it new lira. (And yes, that is alot of zeros  )

It's a long way for Turkey to become a member of the EU. And even if they become a member tomorrow, that doesn't mean they would also get the Euro.

It was just a joke from the previous page. And "form right to left" ? I couldn't just let that go. I actually have just registered to post that message. :)

Anyone pulling an all-nighter?

Yep. That's me, and the rest of the all-nighter-pray-for-new-ibooks-and-play-oldschool-games-while-drinking-caffeinated-beverages LAN party crowd over here.

Ahhhh.... t'is the good life.

i'm down to my last aqua teen hunger force episode guys, i'm hanging in ther ebut only for liek another 15 minuets.

OK this is sad: I was dreaming about checking the web site for updates, so I had to get up! If it's any indication, I just received an email from Apple promoting the Apple Store for Education Student Union. I don't think they would send out an email like this without mentioning new products. I'm not ordering right away, but I am looking for additional Macs in my house someday soon, and a new, higher res iBook would fit the ticket! Oh, well....

It's been almost 80 years since Turkish has been written from left to right.

Kemal Ataturk imposed the Latin alphabet and outlawed the Farsi alphabet in 1928. link The Wikipedia calls it a modified version of the Arabic alphabet, which is accurate, since the (modern) Farsi alphabet is similar to Arabic except it has a few extra letters (which have additional consonant sounds).

edit: Even in countries where they write from right to left, numbers (including decimals) are read from left to right.

Anyone here starting to get that sinking feeling in their gut that the ibooks won't be updated?

Why does everybody have the idea that this is happening shortly after midnight pacific time?

It has never happened that early in the day, so I would venture to say it's not going to happen this time.

Don't be discouraged. If you're able to sleep go ahead and do so. I will be looking for updates within the next 6+ hours after which I'll start to worry. In the meantime I'm going to attempt to go to bed.

Actually based on recent history, my feathers won't be too ruffled unless nothing happens in the next 9 or so hours.

Chillax dudes, I'm ever one for an all-nighter over a product, but they release new shizzle during business hours. That way, Apple workers get to sleep.

hi all, i'm looking forward to seeing the specs of both ibooks and mac minis. I was on the verge of buying a PB a few days before the intel switch announcement which threw me completely. If the ibook gets a CPU boost, (i'm hoping 1.5) and a widescreen i'll be mighty tempted.

I'll keep my desktop beast to process video but use the ibook as a travel comp and hopefully it will be up for running at least cubase.

Wait, people here actually thought that Apple would do a midnight update?

I'm expecting the store to go down in 4 hours time (1:30pm UK), and in 5 hours I expect to be trying to place an order for whatever looks like the best value iBook and maybe a Mac Mini.

Between 5 and 7 AM Pacific is the norm, isn't it?

I know when I get up (Eastern time, +3) the new stuff is always waiting for me.

Now... has any rumor actually cited today? :D Might be NEXT week and still not disprove TS

That's a valid point, but... uh.... all-nighters are fun. :D

(watches the sun rise).
