A lot of you are being critical of the delivery services that are shipping your ibook. Be grateful that they are that quick at least. If you had on the apple page 2-3 day shipping and its slower than that, it could very well be apple's fault in not getting it to Fed Ex quick enough. And because Fed Ex won't let you pick it up at their office, doesn't make them suck... A lot of shipping companies won't do that. Be patient, at least you are about to be using a new BTO ibook.

I would agree with you if the shipping was free. However since I paid extra for faster shipping I won't. I hope you enjoy having companies walk all over you.

Yay! Mine came today... I work at night and sleep all day, and my girlfriend answered the door. It's estimated delivery date was for the 4th, so you can guess how surprised I was when I woke up, turned on the computer, and went to the fedex tracking site before going downstairs and checking... I was like, what?!, delivered 8:53 AM? This is NY and it was in Alaska last night!

Guess it wasn't in Alaska... :D

Just goes to show you not to trust anything you read on the tracking log.

PS... This is my first Mac!!!

Are u typing this up on the ibook?

:( Sadly, not yet... I'm going to go to work tonight and charge it while I'm sleeping this way I can calibrate it. By the way, pressing the button on the battery shows it is fully charged. They don't really come fully charged, right? I have yet to turn it on.

hmm I have no idea. Since it's came fully charged, the light shoudl be green when you plug it in.

If you paid extra for shipping and are not getting it in the time that was stated, then call Apple. I would not put up with that either if it was guarenteed to be shipped in X number of days and it went past that number. But saying stuff like FedEx sucks cause I'm not getting it now is crazy. There are so many other factors that go into the shipping: when Apple got it to FedEx, what US customs is doing when your shipment arives in the states and how long they take to authorize it, weather at the airports, when it arrives to each area and when the truck that delivers in your areas go out. So instead of complaining about Fed Ex on some message board when your shipment is late and you paid extra, call Apple and I am sure they will glady refund your extra fee for faster shipping if it is indeed past the date that was guarenteed.

still in Suzhou! Bloody hell with TNT! But I *guess* it could have taken the Retardlandia (Russia) route for Finland since brits seem to get those already. :(

Did you call TNT or what, or does your tracking info show "31 heinä 2005 03:18 Suzhou Shipped From Originating Depot" as the last event? I thought this meant they've shipped it FROM China, correct me if I'm wrong. Or are we missing yet another point before the cargo leaves China?

I recieved mine yesterday morning, August 2nd, 9:00AM. A full day ahead of schedule. A lot of people who paid two day shipping got it Monday, yet I got the free shipping and got it a day later, i'm glad I didn't get the two day shipping. But yeh, what a relief, and i'm so hooked on this iBook because its my first mac. Who knows when i'll use my PC again for anything other than Battlefield 2. Apple IMO brings a very good product to the table, i'm impressed. Good luck to those who still haven't gotten your iBooks, who knows maybe you'll get yours a day or two earlier than estimated, its possible, just be patient, its definitely worth the wait, i've been waiting ever since I ordered on the 19th.

My iBook's estimated delivery date is still the 4th. However, it left Memphis early enough this afternoon to make it to me tomorrow morning even if they drove it. I 'm hopefull.

I hope they don't pull a UPS. On many occasions I've noticed that my package will arrive early in my local hub and it will sit there until it's scheduled delivery date. I can't tell you how many times I've driven half an hour out of town to the UPS facility so I could get my parts, rather than let them sit there for two or three days.

i guess ours got split up, th... mine says 'international release' in indy at 11:48 p.m. tuesday. hope it doesn't go to memphis from indy, i'd love if it went the two hours from indy to cincinnati

I'm in the same boat here, but FedEx delivered my iPod a day early a couple of weeks ago, so I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

Lucky git. I have no idea where my iBook is, TNT never bothered to enter it on their system.

ibook order for UK - estimate?

Ordered my ibook 1:30pm GMT yesterday
'Processing order' overnight
Just switched to 'Preparing Shipment'
Could anybody estimate delivery date in UK from their recent deliveries/experience?

(it does say on/before 9 Aug but I can't see it taking another week to despatch from where it is now- its past the BTO stage)

Wouldn't it be useful to have a widget with the delivery tracker/estimate on?
Put in your order number, and it brings up your current status.

Problem is that they get held up in the Netherlands.
Use the apecode delivery tracker, then the TNT one. I wish Apple would put it on their website.

Just got off the phone with Finland's TNT rep, and she said that currently my iBook is in Amsterdamn, and delivery would be on August 9th (next tuesday :D), but told me to phone monday morning about the timing of the delivery, and it might be possible to get it monday at the earliest (my bet's on tuesday with the weekend and everything). Apparently the online tracking service doesn't know sh*t, since the last event it shows is from sunday 31st, when it was shipped from suzhou.

So Tahko, no showing off with new Macs for next weekend. CRAP.

i am writing these words on the most compact fully featured mac portable. yep thats right, i have my iBook!!!

mates, you're going to love it! peace brothers and have fun!

Yes, I have exactly the same line. And I think it means they were shipped to Europe. Last status info before it will come to Finland should be Aarnheim or whatever that Dutch port was called again. Hopefully it'll be in Europe this evening or early tomorrow to get it in Friday. :(

iBook attempted delivery today

I am damn impressed with Apple's delivery time. I ordered my 12" iBook BTO with a 60 gig hdd last Tuesday at about 5 p.m. I did not pay the extra $30 for expedited shipping.

Today, at 10 AM, Fedex tried to deliver both. Since I'm at work, I'll go to their depot tonight to pick them up. 5 business days is pretty damn good since originally it was 3-5 days to ship, then 8-10 to deliver.

I can't WAIT to crack it open tonight! :D
