New iBook Ship date

Just got my computer!!! It got here 2 days before it was estimated to get here!!! good luck everyone, im about to open my new iBook!!!

i ordered my new ibook saturday afternoon and started reading here to see when i might expect it to arrive, and i found myself laughing at how impatient everyone was - i imagined you all sitting in front of the computer clicking refresh twice an hour and thought 'not me, no i can be more patient than that...'
but now that it's been a few days, i am right there with you! that's what i get for laughing - now i can't stop checking the order status just waiting for the status to change to shipped!
so here's the deal with mine:
12in ibook w/ 80G hard drive and 1G ram (hubby's suggestion, i just went with it), ipod mini w/engraving (education discount), and applecare for ibook.
my order has been processing since sunday, but yesterday morning the ibook was 'sent to manufacturing' for the upgrades, i imagine.
today, both the applecare and the ibook were changed to 'preparing shipment.'
this last time i checked the applecare status was 'shipped,' but it's via ups. just wondering if the applecare and the ibook were shipped separately for you all too (if you got applecare), or if this means my ibook might be shipped through ups too (instead of fedex).
interested in hearing what you all think, as it's clear all us impatient eager awaiters are sitting in front of one computer waiting for another one to arrive.
(the ipod's a gift for a birthday later in the month, so i'm not so worried about when it will arrive)

why dont apple make the Airport Extreme car have GPS and then we would know exactly where it is and if the iBooks got stolen we could track it down!

This makes me mad that they will not deliver until wednesday and said I can't pick it up. Even though my iPod and printer shipped a day later and got here monday.

yikes, i'm in cincy, which is two hours from indy, yet now i'm thinking they'll send it to memphis first, then to cincinnati. yikes. still, thursday at the latest. i'm swamped tomorrow anyway. although, i'd love to do my work on the new computer
Mine finally left China then has since arrived and departed from the Philippines to parts unknown. Estimated Delivery is on Friday . If it doesn't arrive early I will be asking for my money back that I paid for 2-3 day shipping.
I have to say it now. FedEx Sucks.

A lot of you are being critical of the delivery services that are shipping your ibook. Be grateful that they are that quick at least. If you had on the apple page 2-3 day shipping and its slower than that, it could very well be apple's fault in not getting it to Fed Ex quick enough. And because Fed Ex won't let you pick it up at their office, doesn't make them suck... A lot of shipping companies won't do that. Be patient, at least you are about to be using a new BTO ibook.

You couldn't be more right. Geez...you guys try getting a slew of computers from China to points all across the States in a timely fashion. The logistics are mind-boggling. Cut Fedex some slack, they seem to be delivering consistently ahead of schedule.

I was like, what?!, delivered 8:53 AM? This is NY and it was in Alaska last night!

Just goes to show you not to trust anything you read on the tracking log.
