New Image Offers Clearer Look at Apple Watch Series 7 Screen Size Compared to Series 6

No one knows if it’s coming in 2022, Apple might wait until S10 for the design change
Almost sure. Apple was so boring during the last years, it needs more than new emojis or a new watch face. A Design change was claimed to happen already this year.

If not - who cares? I'm happy when I don't have to upgrade. Glucose monitoring or 3days battery life could be cool features and reasons to upgrade.

I’m not ready to upgrade my series 4 yet, but it’s good to see the improvements for when I am.

I wanted to buy an Apple Watch v1,2,3,4,5,6 and now 7. The health features alome would sell me; I’m on dialysis and take bp, pulse, etc quite frequently. The screen size on the 7 is gorgeous and I love being able to take my O2 sat levels.

The killer? 18 hour battery life. Not good enough, and this will delay purchasing v8, 9, etc. I ended up buying a Galaxy Watch 3 just b/c of battery life. Depending on the watch face I use I get up to 4.5 days on a charge.

Yeah last years oxygen one is useless I don’t think anyone uses it lol, to have a small display on your waist bigger is a major upgrade to me
I’m a dialysis patient and if the watch had a better battery life I’d buy one. The oxygen saturation is so ething I get checked once a week anyways; I’d love it to be able to do that at home and not have to go in to a hospital.

Yes, lol, I would use this feature.

Sadly, not everyone is healthy.

Where is the report on longer battery life?

If you want faster charge speeds just buy a mini fan to blow on the watch or stick it in the fridge with a power bank… in cooler temps, S6 charges super fast

This attitude is how we end up with Safari design changes that are terrible. The lack of a new design does not necessarily equal boring. A design change isn't even on my list of new features I want for the AW. Better battery life (faster charging is part of this), better/more sensors, and a better screen are the top 3 items I think for most people.

I took the plunge and upgraded this year. I'll miss having a stainless watch (I love the look but can't justify the cost) but it'll be nice to have a larger display.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I like the design of the 7 a bit less than the 6.

Sure, more screen estate is always welcome, but the balance between the compent's sizes and placement (borders, digital crown, etc...) seems off to me. The bezels are too thin in comparison of the crown, while with the 6 these elements were evenly distributed and sized.

I also think it becomes a bit too fragmented between the various watch generations and the features available or not.

Nice with a bigger screen but I still don’t see any significant reason for upgrading from a S4.
I was with you. Recently able to jump on a used S6 for $300. Sold my s4 for $200. I turned off the always on display and now only need to charge about 15 minutes per day. My S4 battery was down to 78% health so it was dying much quicker. Happy with the turnout here.

I am really looking forward to the larger screen size too. Happily upgrading from a Series 6.
Same. I use my watch to view small text, every day (notes, on calendar entries) and being able to read more without having to scroll will be incredibly welcome. My SS series 6 will either get sold or switch to sleep tracking duty (my wife doesn't want it - says it's too big) and the SS series 7 will be my daily driver. Can't wait to get it!

Bigger screens can be achieved without having a gigantic wrist is to go landscape mode. We are in the digital watch age and I would like to see a move away from portrait watch faces, it needs to go landscape, it much more practical.

You gotta love the illusion that the screen has been increased by more than 1mm with how they have made the metal chassis wrap around the edge more.

that and the fact it't the case which increased by 1mm... the screen has grown by a lot more than 1mm. That's what makes it look like it's been increased by more than 1mm...

It is a nice screen improvement over my 6. If you look back to the first generation Apple Watch, that one truly looks ancient now in comparison.
I hope to use mine until gen 9 or so.
I have Series 2 and it looks ancient only when the screen is on, so you can appreciate the difference. Otherwise, you really cant say what Series Im wearing without close inspection. In terms of functionality my Series 2 still serves me great for what I used it for: notifications and basic health tracking like heart rate and steps. I will definitely wait for at least one more generation, if not even more, before purchasing any more modern.
