they added "on speakerphone"?

Siri sends everything it's ever been asked by millions of people to some database server, and knows when it has to fall back to "**************************" results.

Why isn't there an entire room of people going through these failed requests and just wiring them up? I have to remember the syntax of how to ask Siri, when I wish Siri would know the syntax of how I ask it stuff. Possible with the data Apple has to work with, even if it's an enormous, 2-million-line long Case statement.

So with the Apple Watch I'm guessing this feature will always be available even when your phone is not plugged in.

I want to know why Apple are not using the partnership with IBM to get Siri wired to Watson. I know the deal between them is for the corporate side, but still cut another deal, surely somebody at Apple must see the potential of Watson powering Siri.

what I still find utterly annoying is that u have to enter your apple ID password after a reboot on the store. I mean you already put in your passcode and your touch id after a reboot... why isn't TouchID enough to verify it is really you making the purchase? doesn't apple believe in its own invention?

May have something to do with the security model of Touch ID. Your passcode is not be the same as your iTunes password, they are separate. Touch ID doesn’t unlock or read your keychain items, but the apps themselves allow Touch ID as a method of verification once they’ve authenticated you. They do this by recognising a temporary identification number that is associated with Touch ID. Some apps clear that identification number on a reboot, which is why Touch ID can’t be used until you verified your identity again. At least, that’s how I understood from a thread on the 1Password forums.

When will they fix how shocking the Music app has been since iOS 8 launched. It constantly craps out, fades music levels, crashes, and won't play songs. Drives me nuts. Then there's the new lag and random hanging since 8.2.. Ugh..

Sometimes it seem like it....

Most of the recent updates seem to just be playing catch up with Android.
Yeah, totally, like that iMessage service that Android has had for such a long time before Apple (or even since). ;)

I just wish Hey siri would consistently work...

Call me when "Hey Siri" can be activated without iPhone being plugged in.

Wouldn't this kill battery life? Or are there third-party apps/Android apps that run all the time with little effect on battery life?

Or could it perhaps be done with a dedicated coprocessor? Like the M7/M8 but instead of motion, it's always listening and working out whether you're saying "Hey Siri" or not?

I wish they would change the lock settings. When you set up to enter a passcode, you can choose immediately all the way up to 1 hour for when it will ask for your passcode.

But when you're using Touch ID, you only have "immediately" available. This is the number one reason why I won't use Touch ID to unlock my phone cause im tired of having to use my fingerprint every time. I have my passcode lock set to 1 hour.

It is one thing for Siri to understand a command (which is mainly a server-side task) and it is another to let Siri modify the speaker setting (the latter needs an OS update).

The lack of Siri functionality up until now astounds me. There is so much potential, just from a data collection standpoint, of Apple being able to target the most used items of request and adding those in.

Siri should constantly be surprising us with new functionality that is added on the backend - no software update required.

But but but you NEED to update your device you NEED lol. Yeah unfortunately I agree w you. In waiting for Siri to actually work wout an Internet connection for basic "secretarial work".

I am curious how it is decided which feature will go into a major release (ie, iOS 7, 8 etc.) and which is implemented in a minor release.

Because YOU turned the phone on, but someone else can take it and buy half app store ? they are protecting themselves.

Umm don't you press the home button to get to your home screen? Even during your 1 hr free access time?
