Speakerphone should be the default when you place a call with Siri without a headset connected (more specifically, when Siri hears you more loudly through the phone mic than your headset mic, incase you've taken your headset off but not powered it off/disconnected it), and it should switch to normal mode only if you put the phone to your ear.

That's really the kind of thing you expect Apple to have thought of.

I'm just waiting for apple to bake old style voice control in with siri, so if there's no connection to the net & it's a simple command I'm asking I don't get "I'm really sorry about this...." where it does bugger all, can't see why it would be that hard or maybe this is what the watch is for?

Holy schnikes!! It only took them 8 years to decide I'd be ok with my kids dl free apps? Sweet!

In all seriousness having to put in their PW for free apps was really annoying and I'm glad Apple is making the change.

Speech recognition requires a real processor and eats real power. Something like the m9 would be absolutely incapable of handling eat.

99% sure most of the recognition happens server-side. It seems to only know how to recognize "hey Siri" on its own, but the rest is sent to Apple for processing.

There must be a bug in the 8.3 beta version. I asked siri to call Tim Cook on speaker and Siri didn't understand.

I believe voice will be the only thing we can use to interact more and more. with less and less need to use a touch screen..

Finally, maybe even eliminating the screen ? I dunno.... Although most of these ever growing features we can now call on siri to use them, what do we touch for ? i guess the screen will always be there, for those that need to read or maybe have some touch based function. But until that day comes.....

I'm not sure that solves anything; now you've got the same situation - an icon you don't want, only it's a folder icon, but the end result is the same.

What I meant was that if they implement settings similar to the Apple TV, then at least there is no icon visible for any stock apps that are of no use to you and taking up space on the screen

Yes, I always have to inout my password. I actually like this, because I have a few apps that I never update, and I don't want to accidentally update them. I actually have, under Restrictions, the option for "require password immediately" selected (by my own choice).

I should have done that. My cousin updated all my apps because I had so many pending updates. I almost never update them because the updates tend to be worse, not better.

How about a setting that has Siri tell me the name of a caller who is in my address book so i don't have to take my phone out of my pocket when I have my headphones in? Instead of ring ring....

Ummm... Hey Siri is not new and has been around since the release of iOS 8. You can also use it to open Apps, play music and such.

The only time I have ever had an issue with it is while I have google Maps open.

Elaborate.

Occasionally some update might have an issue or remove a feature perhaps, but for the most part most updates are no worse and usually better (as they fix some bugs, add some features, etc.).

They'll either improperly try to implement a flat design, add in-app purchases or ads, add bloat, or break certain things. Usually, they're about the same as before or only better in a way that I don't notice, only I take a risk by updating. Can't go back once you update. Only if I hear that a certain update is worthwhile, I'll do it.

A few particularly nasty updates:
Facebook (if you don't want a separate Messenger app)
Speedtest.net (made it lag on older iPhones, resulting in lower speeds)
AIM (the one where they got rid of the yellow guy and redid the design, removing the buddy list (WTF))
Snapchat (latest did nothing but add annoyances and bloat)
Tinder (I don't use it, but people complained that the latest made certain things pay-only)
Certain old games, back in the iOS 4 days, would occasionally have an update that would kill the save progress. The developer would say "DO NOT UPDATE UNTIL ANOTHER NEW UPDATE IS RELEASED" on the description.

I have little hope about this new release fixing the iPop issue on ipad air 2 but lets wait, maybe.

I wish the wifi on my iPhone 6 would consistently work…still waiting. :(

Have you tried resetting network settings in Settings -> General -> Reset?

I've found this works wonders (though you do have to manually reconnect to each wifi network you want to automatically connect to again)

I would like to know if "Hey Seri" also works when I connect met iPhone to a simple Pioneer Bluetooth car radio. Anyone tried that?

It should work. Works in my Volkswagen over bluetooth- but not so well if there's a lot of ambient noise (ie. driving on the interstate)

How about they just make the **** WIFI work again?!?!

Try resetting network settings. Settings -> General -> Reset

Hopefully will fix your issue.

Siri is so incapable. Such useless system. It never gets what you are saying. When I am driving I always end up stopping on the side of the road and typing stuff. To look for addresses is useless.

Sounds like something isn't right in your situation as it works just fine for most.

took apple long enough - this was amongst one of the biggest annoyances of iOS over android.

That's why I also go and save the apps that I don't want updated to an external drive as well. That way, if I update them in iTunes or my mobile devices, I have an older version to reinstall.
