Personally I think it should be ban worthy to whine about Macs in an iOS device-related article. Not sure why this nonsense is tolerated on this site.

Totally guilty. :p

However, please understand the frustration from the Mac camp. We've been talking about new iPads continuously year after year with little hope in the Mac desktop especially camp for 2+ years now.

Calling it now, the $299 iPad will be the Air 2 with a price drop. It will only be offered in a 32GB model.

I'd actually buy that! My iPad 3 is way too slow for anything other than very light browsing.

Excited about a possible march event. Wonder if they will introduce something else than an new iPad. AR? Improved Siri? New pencil? At least expand pay to the Netherlands :p

What they need is new iPod touch models. Am I the only one with kids? They look at the screen size of the current (using "current" very loosely here) iPod touch and laugh. For me it's an updated larger iPod touch or I'm buying used iPhone 6+'s for my kids and installing tablet SIM cards on them. Never mind Apple. I don't need you now that I think about it.

Bring back 2009.
What? It's still here. You can walk into any Apple Store today and half the products are unchanged since 2009. Enjoy.

While Apple may have an event in March with refreshed iPads and maybe even a Mac line getting some love, Apple adores the iPhone way too much to upstage the bezel free iPhone with a bezel free iPad Edition release now. Look for that to join the iPhone show in the fall.
That is what my crystal ball is showing me. :)

What's with the color choices on iPads? They have 2 models with almost identical colour, silver and the slightly darker silver? Can't understand Apple, is it really hard for them to make black iPad?

Time to see if the iPad Mini survives a chopping block. I got my iPad Mini 4 on sale and it fits my needs while offering a nice size.

One is silver and white. The other is grey and black. Totally different. Want black, buy a 1st gen iPad mini or an iPhone 7. Otherwise quit crying or they'll come out with another damn female color and leave us with nothing.

They're not going to update anything. They're just going to drop the space grey and add jet white, jet pink and jet purple.

This new 10.5 inch bezeless iPad could possibly be my first iPad. If it had an OLED screen then it would be an automatic buy for me. Still, this new model sounds interesting. Hope it comes with at least 4gb of memory.

ThaRuler, I couldn't agree more with you. And the good news for you, is it's not about the Apple Watch (Being I know how much you like it). But I think OLED would be a huge advantage.

Meanwhile, you somehow believe whining about other's whining on an iOS related topic is tolerable? Interesting concept...

Back on the topic, I just hope that Apple still release a new iPad mini...my iPad 3 is in dire need to be replaced.

Seems chopped but would love be making a wrong assumption. An Apple pen-capable mini would be great for note taking. I have a 9.7 Pro, but also a Mini 2 and 4. I use the Mini's as remotes and readers.

Apple did announce WWDC early, so I'm in doubt about a March event.

Actually, I think for the iMac Apple should going to standard SATA SSDs, instead of forcing the consumer either choose between a ridiculously expensive 2GB/s PCIe SSD or a cheap and ridiclously slow HDD. I understand the Mac Pro, but it would benefit more iMac users to have a cheaper SSD option that will still smoke any HDD. For the same price, Apple could easily offer base 256GB SATA SSD and 512GB+ SATA SSDs for the higher end models, and I'm will to bet most would rather have a 512GB SATA SSD over a PCIe 128GB SSD and 1 TB HDD Fusion Drive.

I can see where you're coming from. Little cheaper than NVMe. Looks like the biggest fusion drive Apple sells is 3TB. Other World Computing sells a 2TB SSD. That might work for most people.

On the other hand, it might also help to standardize on one storage method for the entire Mac line. Get better prices from the supply chain, easier motherboard & driver designs, etc.

4 billion a year in R&D and they come up with the same crap. What are they doing with all that money.

No clue. I remember when Apple had its event to launch the rMBP with Touchbar that it seemed so gimmicky, and good as one new feature, but not the only big change. They spent almost the whole 90 minute event talking about the touchbar, when they should've spent maybe 30.

To make it worse, I feel Microsoft showed them up A LOT with the Surface Studio announcement. I just thought that having the movable screen and ability to write on it were a lot more impressive than just a touchbar. I know, some people don't like touch screens. Fine. Use a keyboard and mouse and not the screen. Easy peasy.
