It's only a ripoff if there are other similar iPad keyboards with the same or better features as Apple's, and priced significantly less.

Don't need those extra features and/or don't want to pay the $$$? No worries. There are a ton of lower priced keyboards available out there.
Making excuses for Apple's greed as usual I see....

Making excuses for Apple's greed as usual I see....

How is it greed? Apple offers a solution that people are free to purchase or not. They aren’t preventing third parties from creating a similar solution. Logitech just introduced a Keyboard/Trackpad combo for the iPad Air/10.5” Pro /7th Gen. and Apple allows Bluetooth trackpads and mice to be used as well. You have plenty of other alternatives to get Trackpad support on an iPad Pro. Some people don’t mind paying for Apple’s solution, others do.

I think it’s overpriced, so I vote with my wallet right now. If others find the value in the Magic Keyboard that’s for them to decide and vote with their wallet.

“Greed” sounds simply like a code word used by people here who want what Apple is selling, but either cannot afford it or do not want to afford it, yet feel like they are entitled to it regardless. That’s not how it works.

It’s such a shame this didn’t get the release it deserved. To me this new keyboard and cover design really elevate the iPad Pro to the next level. Particularly in ergonomics - it’s such an Apple design that’s the best thing they’ve done in years. It’s got the design language of the iMac, but the simplicity Apple is famous for. Would really love to see them do Space grey AirPods and Pencil to complete the set.

But this floating design is so unique, so elegant. They waited and waited and finally released something worth it. To me the last keyboard case they did was flawed, it’s so good to see this new design.

The spine is quite interesting too, being able to offer charging, keeping cables out of the way. The fact it is compatible with current iPad Pro’s too is fantastic - most people could even pick up that model for the keyboard experience. A great step in the right direction for iPad. Otherwise would be nice to see a Magic Trackpad with Pencil support in future.

Elsewhere would loved to have seen a processor bump on the Mac mini, perhaps in 2022.

I purchased an iPad 3 in July of 2012...probably the only time I have seriously considered flying to Cupertino to set a flaming bag of poop on the front lawn of 1 Infinite Loop. I won’t whine about deserving my money back, but I bought the 64GB/Verizon model at full retail...that was an especially painful lesson for me. Painful enough that it has never been repeated going forward.
Just by luck of timing I bought iPad 4, but I would have furious if I’d bought a 3. Reflects poorly on Apple, I’ve posted about it previously.

I find it generally easier on my eyes to not have the computer screen be the only light source in a dark room.

I think Apple has an interest in supporting older devices for longer now as they are investing more and more in their service offerings since new iOS hardware is probably on a plateau already.
I used feel the same before dark mode. But i find dark mode in the evening much more conducive to me winding down for bed and doing a bit more work with the lights off. Dark mode is one of the best OS features ever IMO.

The CPUs that Apple would use in the Mac mini (and iMac) are rumored to be released as soon as next month. Both 8 and 10 core chips are available in a 65 Watt TDP. But the Comet Lake chips are a different socket, and some redesign will be necessary.

Though the mini presumably doesn’t sell anywhere near the volume of the MacBook Air or iMac, I do expect to see a new mini before the end of the year. If the CPUs come in April, hopefully the mini will be updated sometime this summer🤞

Let's see a bigger and better tablet from Apple by introducing a 17” iPad Pro with price begin at $1500

I just noticed that the iPad Pro 11 256GB LTE is $1049 instead of $1099. That may help make up for the restocking fees from the iPad I just bought.

Also noticed the 128GB option. May considering that option as well next week when they come out.

I thought for sure they would be delayed. I was wrong. I also could stick with what I have and just take the $110 price match...

How sturdy/attached will this new keyboard thing be if it’s only attached via magnets? Seems concerning compared to a case+keyboard design.

How does this keyboard compare to the others with a trackpad like Brydge?

I'll order one the moment they confirm 8GB of RAM in the base model. Or I'll have to wait for the next generation.

Bu then, won’t the use cases that make you want 8GB now, make you need 10GB, what with OS/app bloat?

I’m going case-less until May then I will order the new trackpad case. I need a foreign one as I’m using the iPad for language learning as well so I will need to order it from abroad too

While I’d like that as well I fear the market is not there for that big a screen - they discontinued the 17” MBP for a reason too.

Why oh why does not have an HDR display??? I was hoping dearly that the new iPad Pro would have an HDR display. Some mid-range Dell laptops have HDR displays now...

I was all ready to upgrade from my existing iPad Pro if this had an HDR display, right now I'm conflicted.
That’s coming end of the year with miniLED.

Yeah, the only flaw is Apple won’t take my money yet for the new keyboard

I like this for plane flights but... I still don't really see the advantage over a 14" MBP unless it's just cheaper. A traditional laptop is probably still more comfortable to use in bed and with a mouse.
Lots of inexpensive, full-screen apps, no malware/viruses, touchscreen, and keyboard isn’t part of the unit and the unit can function alone without a keyboard?

You don't, but there will be people who do. That's the beauty of choice - each is free to buy the device that best suits their individual needs. 😊

No. The target market of 17” iPad Pro is for people who need it for drawing, sketching! Apple needs to include Pencil as part of the package.

Those who draw and sketch for a living will certainly love such a device- it’s going to be too expensive for enthusiasts in my opinion, hence the audience is too small.
