So, you claiming the Chinese pictures are all photoshopped, correct?

1. Where's this video everyone is talking about?
2. He's saying the pictures that are being displayed on the iPhone in the pictures from the website are Photoshopped, yes, but not the pictures posted themselves. That would be unnecessarily hard.

this is the dumbest argument

I agree completely. Here's an idea: Let's all just shut up for once until WWDC, eh? :p

The website states that it's the new phone in the old casing. This way the phone can be tested in the field without it being noticed as a new iPhone.

Yes, because the HUGE cosmetic differences would give it away immediately...

What, does the 3G iPhone have a flashing neon case that pulsates when you get a call?

Not saying I disagree with you, but you think Random Chinese Manufacturer 563475 has more credibility than Random Chinese Blog 6453?

You're asking if a parts manufacturer has more credibility than some guy's blog.

Please take a moment and read that again. :p

Seems like to much trouble to stick new iPhone components in an old iPhone, all they would have to do is put a cover on the new iPhone to conceal it.

Yes, a parts manufacturer. One that, from what ive read, also specializes in after-market customization. Like I said I don't disagree with you, just bringing up the point :p

:eek:You do notice the iphone is turn sideways right? which explains why the keyboard looks like that.

yes when I first looked at the camera it looked somewhat crooked but after blowing it up 200% it is straight.

No. I'm saying that your method of authenticating photos is flawed. I don't know whether or not the photos are authentic. I take these kinds of photos with a grain of salt.

Could be.

If this were to be a hoax, why would a person go to all the trouble of creating a fake compass application that actually looks legit? I think this series of pictures are authentic because of the following reasons:

1. Aperture shutter does open in video recording mode (can be easily faked, true).
2. Shows auto-focus (which almost hasn't been discussed), it'd be much easier to just leave this out if a person wanted to create a hoax.
3. Compass app.
4. CPU activity screen.

I think it's too detailed to be a hoax. Which doesn't prove anything ofcourse, I'm just sharing my reasons for believing these pictures to be authentic.

Easy dude, it just makes sense. Besides, a matte black casing instead of a glossy black casing is quite a big difference if you ask me.

Blame Apple if you think they're overprotective of their new phone, not me.

You could always steal the compass pic that they show on the iPhone commercials, plus the images are so blurry its ridiculous. An iPhone field tester doesn't have a good enough camera to take a decent pic. Plus we already know what the OS 3.0 can do why do we need pics, i want to see the new iPhone pics if theres one.

Your points are good. If this is a hoax, the person went to a lot of trouble to do it.

You could always say colorware did it.

I believe OS 3.0 adds the ability to display the battery percentage next to the battery icon, so he isn't using a jailbroken iPhone.

actually, i just double checked on os 3.0 beta 5 and there is absolutely no way to display the percentage....in fact I have looked for this on previous betas and didnt see it.
if anyone HAS used this feature in beta 5, let me know..
i dont think it exists.

Ofcourse, it's not impossible. If this person wants his 15 minutes of fame, he went through a lot of trouble for it. The autofocus and video recording pictures would've sufficed to get a thread here.

Btw, if anyone can find the picture seen in the compass app, I'm convinced that this is a hoax.

sometimes you have to man up and admit that you are wrong.

although this thread is good for entertainment reasons...
