Adapt or die.

If Steve got on stage today and said the 3.5" screen was the perfect size, people would laugh in his face. 3.5" was the perfect size in 2007, not in 2014. All of your complaining is for nothing, we all know you will go and get a 4.7"(or bigger) phone, like it, learn to love it, and then go and find something else to whine about. Can we just jump to the last part? Do a lot of apple users wear skinny jeans? I have put a galaxy note in my pocked with no issues. I wear dockers, you don't need a fanny pack or man purse to carry something even that size.

Apple should have been the first to market with a bigger screen phone, not because it's innovative, it's not; it just makes sense. All of you people who are crying about a phone being to big need to go have a pity party with the people who are upset that the chick wheel iPod will go away one day. Adapt or die is equally important to companies and it is to a species.

i agree totally. what are these people going to do in 10-20 years when technology is way beyond what it is now? you have to learn how to adapt and love it. Growing up in the no cell phone days definitely made me appreciate technology and I've loved it ever since. i grow with it and i definitely want a bigger screen.

as long as there will still be a smaller (~4") device for those of us who don't own a men purse, apple can go on and make as many big devices as they want.

Finally, a comment that makes total sense. I love big screen devices (Note 3 owner) but I still understand that people want small screens (like my wife). Why is it hard for people to grasp the concept of multiple sizes?
Will a large screen iPhone cause me to switch? Probably not because I love Android and more choices in features across multiple OEM's (I strongly doubt that Apple would bring sd cards, removable batteries, water resistance and my favorite; the IR blaster to the iPhone). But I still want Apple to succeed . Competition will give us better devices all around.

Youre not. Glass back was the most premium looking and feeling iPhone to date.

Glass backs look good on paper but over the years I've heard less complaints with the iPhone 5/5s. Some happened when Google had the glass backed Nexus 4. I hear no complaints with the Nexus 5.

With your logic, we should all be using 17" laptops.

I bet if Apple did a 7-inch iPhone or larger the instance response would always be the same year after year, which is "ya,, what a great phone.... display is great too."

I'm an Apple user, but at least i have standards to think, yes this is good, or no it's not..

Just because Apple has the best software, doesn't mean all bets are off, regardless of how large a display it is.... or the hardware has gotten us all sucked in. :apple:

I have a man purse, but I still prefer a smaller phone. It's better to keep the phone in my pocket than in my bag.

It looks like Samsung

Especially with the sleep/awake button on the side. If you really need to do such a big phones please make the small one too - 3.5' is perfect size! Looks like I am going to stay with 4s forever :(

I will not buy a 4.7'' phone. I am very sad about it but the only choice for me would be to find the 3.5'' Android phone once my 4s dies. Phone greater than 3.5'' is simply non ergonomic!

I like the idea of a bigger screen, but after a certain point making the phone longer, yet thinner I'm going to worry about carrying it in my pocket, sitting down and hearing "snap" as it breaks into two pieces due to the stress (or at least bends out of shape).

I agree with you that Apple will never do sd cards, removable batteries (and hopefully this one it never does) but water resistance? What makes you think it won't? And what do you do with this IR blaster to be your favorite feature? Please don't tell me all it does is remote control functions!

Not that I would have a problem with that at all, but no, that's not what I'm saying. The size of a laptop isn't that much of an issue since almost everyone carries them in a bag already. Have you ever picked up a S4? Are you really telling me that you are struggling to get it in your pocked? I don't see a bunch of guys walking around with man bags because of their phones; nor have I seen any bundling of products, offering a free purse with the signing of a new cell contract. So clearly the phone isn't that damn big. This must be an online trolling issue, I've never heard anyone complain about the size of their 4.5-4.7" inch android based phones in person.

The more iPhone rumors I see, the less likely I am to enter into a bet with someone, re what will finally emerge.

Maybe that is the whole strategy here, to confound us with a multitude of possibilities, and then bang, hit us with the real thing, lol …. if that turned out to be the case, Tim would have done a good job of keeping things under wraps…..

hate the power button on the side of my nexus 5. every time you use the volume keys, you hit the power button. leave it on the top
