New 'iPhone 8' Renders Shared Online Based on Alleged Leaked CAD Images

Oh no that Nasty WART !!

Let's Hope apple never make a fugly camera bump like that
Every time you see a render you make that same remark. Nobody is forcing to look at it or indeed buy the final version. There's been a bump since iPhone 6, if you are not used to it by now I suggest you look for a new phone elsewhere. Moaning about it isn't going to change the way it is.

Can you imagine taking a product like that to Steve Jobs. He smiles as you show him the front. Then turns it over, and there is this big bump protruding from the surface. No way he releases that. I would sacrifice some thinness for a flush camera. Too light + too thin = too ugly camera bump.

I see the thread is already filled with the usual "Apple would never" remarks.
Brings back fond memories of the iPhone 4 leak.

A real iPhone from Apple would never have...
...visible screws
...circular, separate volume buttons
...visible gaps in the metal band running around the edge

And of course now the real iPhone 8 from Apple will never in a million years have...
...a camera that looks anything like that

The camera looks bolted on in this render. I'll bet all my Apple stock the real thing doesn't look like that. Especially since the 7 made an effort to not have the camera look like that.

Looks nice except for the camera bump - it really sticks out with that glass back. Give us a thicker, smooth phone back and a battery that goes 2 or 3 days instead. Apple, learn from the Moto Z Play - it sold much better than Lenovorola thought it would, because it had a big awesome battery and people didn't care that it was a little thicker.

Looks nice otherwise, of course the question is whether it looks starting price $1k nice?

You know what really would have been an exciting talking point? If the render had shown there to be a phone jack - I almost giggle thinking about that.

Enough dam.iphone 8 talk in actually sick of it
If only there were, say, websites dedicated to speculation about upcoming Apple products. That way you could easily avoid iPhone 8 talk. After all, going to these sites would practically guarantee that you'd come across iPhone 8 talk. If you happen to find such a site, make sure never to go there. That way you won't have to read iPhone 8 talk.

Absolutely the iPhone 5s is a far better design (and more robust) was hoping for the iPhone SE to be a turning point in the thinness madness but it was not to be.

Of course nothing holds a candle to the excellent iPhone 4s

I had an iPhone 4 and then 5C. Upgraded to a 6 Plus which I loved due to the comfortable keyboard's width ( because of my gamer thumbs ). Then I went back to the SE since it felt much better holding it. The SE is a 'proper' phone and is practical because it's economically affordable with a far better industrial design, and I was able to move all my 1G iPod Touch music playlist into the new device. iTunes could not 'read' my original iPod Touch which was a problem and I needed a bluetooth device to play off the music and almost bought another iPod when the SE became an obvious solution.

I've had the SE since last Fall and am satisfied with it. It may not be as speedy as the others but it gets the job done with out the nonsense vanity features.

I'm somewhat pissed that Apple should have made a 5.5 version of the SE. That's EXACTLY what they should've done two years ago and I would've bought it. The 3D renders on this thread don't look right to me and smells of a 'diversion' for damage control on Apple or a speculative model by an 'armchair' designer. It doesn't look practical at all.

I suspect they may go with the Touch ID on the back and go all glass on front with stainless steel frame just like the iPhone 4 ( as mentioned in previous analyst reports ).

I'm sure most of us don't buy that this thing is legit. Seems a bit porky, and the ring around the camera doesn't jive with the more 'subtle' bump on the 7's.

Can't wait to hear Phil's comment on why they changed the camera position.

I quite like it, Look at the pictures, it will look like those.

Although, it could be that the camera bump is "rounder" and softer like the last picture.

But at least all those complaints were based off actual leaked hardware, not a render based on allegedly leaked cad files. I know the iPod touch and iPhone 6 had the protruding camera ring but then with the iPhone 7 Apple made the camera hump part of the chassis so it looked more natural and blended in better. I don't doubt the 8 will have a camera hump that people complain about but I don't think it will look like this render. I don't think the camera hump will have a stainless steel ring around it to draw attention to it.

I think the schematics and renders look great. I feel like I'm the only one who thinks this thing is going to be gorgeous.

it basically looks like the 7+ to me. not much difference visually. obviously the larger screen will be nice but over all not that radical for the flagship iphone 8 they've been hyping up

People, just because it's a "high-quality render" remember it's still just a render. One person sat down and made this up from documents of questionable origin. It's not like these images were pulled from Apple servers.

Apparently the source was spot on in their schematics from the 7, if that means anything.
