what? it looks nothing like the 7 series.

If by looks the same you mean looks like a phone then sure..but no bezels, no home button and thinner body how on earth does that look the same as the 7?
The overall design pictured in the post looks like the 7 series. No bezels (which aren't noticeable with the screen off), no home button and thinner body (which you can't tell without holding or seeing it side by side with another phone) don't make it drastically different than the 7 series.

My god. I've been waiting 3 years for them to redesign the iPhone 6 design without the rounded sides. Turns out, it's going to be the exact same design just with different materials, again lol. You got me Apple.

By the way, the camera module made me nauseous for a second.

Looking forward to the stainless steel frame adding some heft so that hopefully it doesn't have the same overall impression as the 6, 6s, 7. Screen should be sweet too, I'm all for wide and less tall (18:9 design is already getting lots of complaints) as long as the device doesn't get wider.

Yeah boring! Android is where real innovation comes from

I think you mean Sony, or Huwawei, or HTC, or Samsung, or Nokia, or any other "hardware" company since Android itself doesn't dictate any of the handset's distinguishing design features. It's an OS, it doesn't change the outside look of a phone.

Ok, it seems that this year I will pass the rumoured iPhone 8/8plus:

My reasons:
  1. I love to have a home button.
  2. The home button makes me sense to be in the front
  3. In 7/7 plus we already had a good update of home button.
  4. If the lens are to be like the rumours, then it will be ugly in my opinion.
I understand, only there will still be a honebutton inscreen, it will feel the same.
And the lens isn' t going to be more ugly than the 7 plus, it will look the same is my guess.

That's just it -- excited in a bad way because it's boring. Honestly though I don't care about the exterior. Phones look like phones. Only so much you can do with a thin slab. It's the feature set that matters, true.

As long as I get a jailbreak within 3-4 months I'm happy with any new iPhone. I do go caseless though, so an ugly design hurts the ego a little, ya know? :D

Enough dam.iphone 8 talk in actually sick of it
This is iPhone-rumor season. Idk where you've been the past few years of iPhone iterations, but pretty much the entire middle of every year is filled with such iPhone rumors. You'll be seeing this sort of article on a near daily basis until September.

If the camera bump is going to be like that, they as well provide threadings to attach dslr lens too. Best of both worlds!

Oh no that Nasty WART !!

Let's Hope apple never make a fugly camera bump like that

@Sunny1990. I have to agree with Defender. Why do you make the same remark about the "Fugly camera bump" every time? It Seems highly exaggerated To obsess about a physical, minor feature with a Camera bump. Apple Isn't coercing you to purchase the iPhone. You have options.

I would think the more important changes are going to come with reduced bezels, an OLED display, where touch ID will be located, etc.

Yeah, the camera bump is ridiculous. Just make the phone a few mm thicker to accommodate a flush lens. That also allows for a bigger battery! From a practical standpoint, the camera bump is really bad. Phone does not sit flat and makes lens much more prone to scratching. While I don't really mind the squashed pill design for the body, every manufacturer seems to be using that design. I'd hope for the iPhone X (let's get real, it is a special edition rather than a continuation of the regular iPhone line that will follow iPhone 7S) that it takes design queues from the original iPhone (still my favorite in terms of feel).

Don't you think it would be better to wait to make this decision until Apple announces what it is doing? Making a decision based on some random guy on the Internet's rendering of possible fake, possibly one alternative set of design drawings that Apple may or may not be considering doesn't make any sense.

Controlled leak by Apple?

Sometimes I wonder if they really are controlled leaks with the iPhone by Apple. It would be a brilliant marketing strategy to build hype and allow the consumer to not be completely shocked by what they're going to receive come fall 2017.

If it wasn't for leaks or rumors, then there would be very few renders and third-party case manufacturers would have nothing to go off.

I understand this is a rendering, but if it is slightly thicker, why the camera is still protruded? The latter is my least favorite part of the iPhone and one of the reasons I use a case.
