Does anyone have experience redirecting a UPS shipment to a “UPS Store” and whether doing so will delay receipt of the phone? I’ve read that if the request is to have the phone held at a non-UPS “depot”, there can be a delay. I’m just wondering whether these “UPS Stores” are considered UPS depots.

Thanks for enforcing standard credit card fraud prevention measures, Apple.

Yep. I wouldn't expect Apple to allow for a change of shipping address to an order in process.

If someone has a regularly used alternate address, call your credit card issuer and add it to your file. I did that some time ago as I get some Amazon ordered delivered to a 2nd addr and didn't want any issues.

I added my alternate address to my Apple profile before ordering, then selected that as my shipping address. Order went in just fine.

I seem to remember that tracking Apple's Fedex shipments required removing the leading 'W' from the Order Number. Is that also the case with UPS for these purposes?

Edit: mine just finally showed up in UPS. Among the reference numbers are my full Order Number (including the W) my ten-digit phone number, and a few other pieces of information.

Last year my phone was held at a UPS warehouse and it was a great experience. I drove up, gave them my tracking number, waited for about 5-7 minutes, and my precious was delivered to me. I changed my delivery to be held at UPS this morning so hopefully everything works out again this year!

I asked apple to change my shipping address twice, and did they do it...... nope. Thanks for nothing Apple
Who’s your carrier? Some carriers override back to the billing address in Apple’s activation/shipping system

How hard would it be to reauthorize the card after the shipping change?
For many folks maybe not so easy since the original authorization likely hadn't fallen off yet.

We also don't know that the change request was to an address on file with the issuer.

Reauthorise? You've already paid, it's not your credit card's business any more. Now Apple has the choice to deliver it to the contracted address, or commit mail fraud by delivering it somewhere else.

I finally made it into the online store 5 minutes after and had it ordered by 6 minutes after opening and my iPhone 11 Pro 256GB Midnight Green T-Mobile hasn't budged from Sep 27 - Oct 1. It's still in "processing" hell. Hope it arrives by then because I'm taking my kids to an autumn festival that weekend and that's always a good place to put my new iPhone camera through it's paces every year due to all of the nature, vivid colors, animals, and portrait opportunities. Got some good shots with the advanced HDR capability last year.

Ordered iPhone 11 Pro from Verizon around 8am EDT on 9/13, FedEx already has the package (sitting in PA; deliver to SC) and will deliver on Friday, 9/20.

Ordered Apple Watch 5 directly from Apple for in store pickup on 9/20 at 8am, first time slot available.
