5G on a phone is useless. Signals don't travel as far. That kind of speed on a phone is unnecessary at this point in time. And the rollout is going very slow and plagued with issues. Even a year from now it still won't be in many locations.
LTE is capable of speeds faster than most peoples home internet.
It's more important for other applications. Don't get sucked in to the hype.

I have to agree, I’d rather they just make a phone that gets good reception. I’m still amazed that in 2019 there are so many places I go to around here where I either get no reception at all, or it’s so weak I can barely send a text message. My iPhone 6s used to get a strong enough signal at one of the beaches I go to here where my X is unusable.

I will keep my iPhone 7+ for another year, it works fine for the daily use. I did not see any reason to update the iPhone every year, especially after Apple raised the price.

I’m not buying another phone with an intel chip. I prefer to be able to talk on the phone versus dropped calls and texts that hang for minutes before sending with “2 bars of lte”.

One job Apple, make a phone that can compete with other phones at being a phone.

I agree with you. I have had to switch to 3G at home to make calls.

I'm always excited and happy for any Apple event even though I cannot afford everything they announce. It's really 2 or maximum 3 times of a year. I love those night just sit and watch what is new and how they release the products. It's like watching sports for me.

Not everyone upgrades every year. 11 will probably appeal to plenty of people who has a 6, 7, or 8 model.

That's also what I think. I have a 7+ I wanted to upgrade this year but after all those leaks I still doubt. I want the 2020 newer phone with new upgrades but I realized that you cannot have the newest one always so buy what you wan when you want it's just phone:D. Probably I will be one of those who buys this year for an upgrade.

I mean this without snark, genuine question - isn’t your issue more about your cell/network provider? In the UK, years ago I had to switch from Three (network provider) to EE simply because I couldn’t get any signal in the house with Three, and I didn’t want a femtocell (or whatever they’re called). Had zero problems with EE, bar obvious drops in tunnels, or countryside where there isn’t blanket coverage.

I suppose if you have your phone and a Samsung (for example) on the same network next to each other and the Intel equipped one doesn’t work and the Samsung does, I see the problem.

Is it too much to ask for a normal sized phone for around $500? I am still using my 6s. Would like slightly more screen without larger size.
With respect to size, the new iPhone 11 will have a significantly larger screen, with slightly smaller exterior dimensions than your 6S. But I don’t expect Apple to bring a mid-tier phone to market, so if I wouldn’t hold my breath for a (new) $500 iPhone.

I'm always excited about Apple events, no matter what they are introducing.

Not a lot of carriers have 5G anyway.

You're right, they don't....now. But if you're on a two year upgrade cycle, by the time you're ready to upgrade your 2019 phone, they all will and you'll be feeling very out of date. That's enough to have me wait until next year so I can get that much more longevity out of my inevitable $1200 phone.

same, T-mobile and other carriers generally have poor performance where I work but when I switched to iOS with the 7 Plus and now the XS my service is borderline useless to completely useless. I won't buy another phone with an Intel radio, I've actually thought about going backwards and picking up a Verizon variant of the 7.

I should join an Android forum and post about how I won’t buy any of their products. That would be a constructive use of my time.

I'm on an LG forum. We do that all the time. They're garbage-- the amount of buyers remorse on those forums is palatable. I find it to be my civic duty to warn all the "should I buy this LG" posters not to.

Wouldn't it be great if Apple pulled a regular iPad and just released the new iPhones at the store with no event? I mean there isn't anything new to announce, right?

My 8 is still blazing fast and the first time in my Apple iPhone history the body has actually held up without using a case. I can't see much to get me to upgrade at this point.

I paid £700 for my iPhone 7 128gb. There's no way I'm going to pay £1000 for a 64gb iPhone 11. I have enough disposable income to buy it, but I think it's overpriced. I have even been considering Android phones because Apple are taking the piss with their prices lately.

If Huawei can make a good OS, I'm switching. I'm fed up with Apple's rip off prices.

its ridiculous. I’m on Verizon and still have this issue. Luckily I didn’t trade in my 7 plus and am still able to use it while driving around in low signal areas.

I will be upgrading and up at 3am Eastern time on Pre Order night like every year, I am on the Apple Upgrade Program, so no reason not to upgrade.

I think I saw a rumor that they may do a Project Red this time around on the Max, I would love a new color to pick from.

Maybe this will be the year where we don't have to pre-order in the middle of the night? (I say that every year)

I think the biggest pieces of news this year will be that new iPhones are cheaper.

And they have cameras like new mid to high end android phones.

Keeping the same morbid notch, lightning port, that hideous camera design and maybe a few "nice to have" features, and of course whatever the gimmick is this year. Yawn. I'll almost certainly be skipping this year's iPhone. I'm much more interested in the Galaxy Note 10 or the Pixel 4. Far better looking phones and certainly much better tech, especially the cameras and displays.

Enjoy using Android and losing your upgrade compatibility and resale value after a couple years.

Apple about to start making a killing! The iPhone will become a subscription based phone. This is exactly what the Apple Card is for, apple will no longer need the carriers for this to happen.

I could prolly get used to paying $30- $40 every month(insurance priced in) for a phone and can exchange it every year with a new version. Lots of people will not want this model but I personally think it is better than 1350 for a cell phone every 2-3 years
