Wrong again!
I admitted I was complaining, but not about what the two people that I quoted said I was complaining about. I think it is a very reasonable complaint, but they didn't seem to care exactly what I was complaining about, and nobody has given a good reason why apple shouldn't give us the features of 2.0.
Of course I did. One simple reason would be to sell more iPods. There's nothing unethical about wanting to sell you
another iPod. If you say no, your existing iPod should continue to work just fine.
Do you think Sony sends out upgrades for their game consoles or walkmans? Come on you guys are picking on Apple with this one. Your existing iPods are not defective, just without the newest features.
Take cars for instance. It'd be ludicrous to expect BMW to send you an upgrade kit for a 2002 model just because the 2003 model has a new features unrelated to basic performance that yours doesn't.
They
shoudn't and
aren't obligated to try to keep everybody up-to-date concerning the iPod. I want more people to be tempted to buy new Apple products. It's healthy for them, and for you -- if you really care for the company and it's culture.
For now, they've done what's in their best interest, by adding AAC support for the legacy pods.
In order to sell more iPods to people who
want the new features (they are not critical to older iPods functioning!) it makes sense to concentrate on the newest model and let temptation do its thing. If you're not gonna buy a new one now, be patient.
And as for the people that are telling me not to complain because I should be happy just to have an iPod, apologize, but I thought this was a forum for open discussion, but I realize now it is a place for people who don't have iPods to talk about iPods. My mistake.
Ha, I'm qualified to speak to this, because I AM an iPod owner. Have been since they first rolled out.
But come on ... the drama *tear*. Don't try to jerk my emotional chain just because I have an strong opinion that debunks your baseless whining and complaning. Just be prepared for disagreements when you make suggestions, specifially complaining to Apple about something they're not required to do.
Apple deserves to be confronted on some issues, but honestly this is a weak one.
If you think I should just be happy with my iPod and shut up, that's fine. I am happy with it. But I would be happier if I could change ratings and make a play list on the go. So I have posted here to encourage other ipod owners to complain to apple, like I have.
Give them a moment to breathe and you
just might get more than what you think you want. They
just rolled out a new music service and new iPods. I think people need to be a bit patient and stop bombarding them with negativity.
Don't dampen their spirits. They're actually accomplishing quite a bit, considering the limited resources that they have. Give em a break!
Now back to my "frazzled state"
Why not write them a thank you letter for the nice toys they've made available over the years, instead of reacting negatively?
Wouldn't you want to hear a compliment after you've worked your butt off?
Think about it for a while.
P. S. Don't take my passionate response as a personal attack. Those are not my intentions. However, despite how Apple pisses me off sometimes, I have a pet peeve for obsessive whining and complaining and I think that they get more than they deserve.
Have a good day.
