new iTunes - How to Add Ringtones for FREE

I followed the above instructions and got ringtones in my itunes library and they will not sync to the iphone. When I drag them directly to the iphone logo on itunes, they copy ok. However, all the custom ringtones on the phone itself are the same song! Has anyone seen this problem?

Im having the same problem. They are copying to the ringtones file in itunes but they won't sync to my phone. Anyone have an answer. Please

ok please listen carefully, if your files are not syncing from your ringtones folder in the library part of your itunes to your ringtones part of your iphone do the following:

Plug in your iphone
When it loads up click on the iphone icon
Make sure you are on the summary tab (the screen will say whether you want to update or restore your iphone)
At the bottom of this summary page there will be 3 boxes which you can tick.
Make sure the box that says 'manage my icons myself' is unticked.
Then go to the ringtones tab and select sync, all ringtones will sync properly.
ENJOY!!

Im at the summary page and the boxes at the bottom are not ticked. Except for the Automatically sync. The two other boxes aren't is "manage my icons myself" the same as "Manually manage music and videos? Cause that is the third box. The second box is sync only checked songs. the ringtones still aren't syncing.
 
Ringtone Duplication

I seem to be having a different problem than most.

When I add multiple ringtones to my iphone, they seem to just stack. In other words, as soon as there is more than one ringtone on it, the iphone reads all of them as the filename of the tone that was added most recently, and it plays all of them as the latest tone.

Strangely enough, when viewed through itunes in the "ringtones" section and even the "ringtones" section of my iphone, each tone appears and plays distinctly. Any thoughts on the cause?
 
Downloading ringtones to Iphone

I was able to get ringtones to download to the ringtone section in itunes and onto my iphone. I went to ford blogspot and then from there was a link to the website http://audiko.net/ringtone/ the ringtone was said to last for 32 sec but when it downloaded onto my itunes it only downloaded 1 second. How do I fix that.
 
What's wrong with this?

I have done everything possible....after reading through like....every page of this forum, and I have yet to put a single ringtone on my iPhone. I even was able to download a past version of iTunes (7.4.0 -- courtesy of http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm) and my iPhone firmware is 1.1.4.....

someone please help me!!!!!

Go to this website http://audiko.net/en.html then all you have to do is search for the ringtone you are looking for. After clicking on the song it will ask you where you want to download it to pick the second choice dealing with itunes no mp3's It will then show up in the ringtones sections in itunes then plug your phone in and it should transfer it there.

i have that same problem as well. does anyone have a solution for it? Thanks in advance.

Cant see ringtones....

I also converted it to m4r. i can see those ringtones in ringtone section but not in the phone's ringtone section. now how can I sync and use it as rington.
i am using windows.

I have downloaded rington from this site. it is showing in iTunes' ringtone section but not in iPhone's rington. now how can I sync it to my iPhone. Help please.

This is a great post - Took me ages to try and found how to do the ringtones until I stumbled across this forum Bookmarked for future reference :)

I had a SPV E650 with Windows mobile6 and managed to find how to create rings for that!

I have now got the 8GB iPhone and it is the business - haven't had to reset it once :apple:

Excellent website that.

Only problem I have is some of the ringtones are over 30 seconds and won't sync. No idea how to shorten a m4r file though.

If they are already saved on your computer go to the website and click on "Create your own unique ringtone" That will allow you to shorten the song I think. I'm not sure if the create your own ringtones works with M4r's if not try to find the song in mp3 formate and go to create your own unique ringtone at the top of the site. Hope that helps.
 
doe sanyone know how i can find an old nokia ringtone, how do i find it? iw nat to get it and use it fro one of my contacts in my iphone

hi im not much of a computer whiz but i was wondering what and how do i change the extension for the ring tone!! it says to go to command 1 but im kinda lost can someone please help??????

What I do is I open the folder for which you are looking to use at the top there should be a tools drop down section then go to "folder options" click on the view tab and there should be a box that says "Hide extentions for known files" if it is checked click to remove the check mark. If that doesn't work sorry im not sure. If you trying to make a ringtone I would advise you to just go to this website "http://audiko.net/" they do all the work for you. If that doesn't work sorry man. Thats all I know.

Ummm, i think i am pretty dumb here, but i have ask, how do i change my file from MP3 to ACC and when you say remane with MR4 how do i do that?
