Well, call me old fashioned, but I think that whenever you make a movie based on a book, then you should at least be true to the characters and the intention of the book, even if you may alter the story to fit into the movie story telling format, which is different from books. The worse example (except from Roger Moore, mentioned aboveBakedBeans said:THAT'S my point![]()

The worse example (except from Roger Moore, mentioned above) I can think of is I, Robot, with Will Smith, witch absolutely butchered Asimov's short stories from which the movie got it's title, robotic theme and characters names (and nothing, absolutely nothing, else).

He has a better chance playing Tinkerbell.

Thank you, may I have another one...BakedBeans said:Old fashioned![]()
Aah, then we basically agree. What's better than that. It's just that really bad (i.e. inaccurate) movie adaptations really gets on my nerves.BakedBeans said:I think you misunderstand me, I don't think they represent the books well enough but think they should. Thank god i didn't read Adimov's books (my dad is a big fan of Asimov's work) because i really quite liked the film.

Can't really blame her, I'm guessing that if I ever have kids, and they get awarded such big roles, I'd be gosh darn excited! Major bragging rights.article said:Carol Craig told the Liverpool Daily Post that she was delighted with his appointment. Obviously we are thrilled to bits, she said. It has come at a very good time in his career. He has worked extremely hard all his life and this would be his biggest populist role. It will be life-changing.

I'd rather see Burton directing traffic. Get someone like Chris Nolan who can do character-driven movies. That's what Bond needs.MacNut said:To be honest id love to see what Tim Burton could do if he directed the next Bond film.
