I'm really looking froward to a new direction for Bond. The last offering was a joke - two much "show" and not enough substance. It's time we had a bit more grit and intrigue. So a little Layer Cake influence wouldn't go amiss.

....he's an excellent actor (Again, 'Layer Cake', 'Sylvia', and 'Road to Perdition'), and he's different from any other Bond, something sorely needed after the disaster that was 'Die Another Day'.

Wow, the movies haven't even come out yet, and you already know he'll be different from all the other Bonds.

I personally think that Roger Moore was the best 007, I think that Pierce made the role to flashy and more of an action movie then a spy movie.

To be honest id love to see what Tim Burton could do if he directed the next Bond film.

9/10. Quite funny. :p

man, that dude is ugly!

Ugly may be a bit strong. But that's the point: we should be going back to basics. Less flash, more reality. Sure, Bond is suave and sophisticated: but I want to see him get a broken nose, look a bit roughened up, like spies should be. And a lot less of the ridiculous gadgets (invisible cars... yeeeees.... )

Steve Ballmer wanted to audition, but the studio heads came to their senses and refused. He is better off just promoting Vista ... once it is released (or escapes), then the public will have ample opportunity to decide if they were either shaken or stirred by the new OS.

i want the old bonds.. when sean connery and pierce brosnan walked into a room you could see in their eyes that they were conniving, witty, manipulative womanizers that got whatever they wanted..
No one has seen Daniel Craigs portrayal of him yet, hold back judgement until you do...I really think he could pull it off nicely.

I just hope the script gets better as well. Brosnan was a little too polished to be a Bond. Daniel Craig actually looks like he could handle himself in a fight.

Sigh... the first Bond younger than me. Had to happen sometime, I suppose. In fact, he may well be the first Bond actor younger than the James Bond series (which started in 1962). Anyone know?

It is interesting you bring this up. I thought the whole process was to cast a "Young" bond. Going forward after Daniels run I would almost like to see them do a 20 something bond and have him just starting out.

BTW he is still 2 years older than me...

At least he cared enough to read the thread, hit the post reply button, and type out some words.

by the way edesignuk.. i hate reading your posts because your avitars seem to have a hypnotic effect on me..
that doesnt mean change it.. shes gorgeous.

Really? Even now? :D

It must have been really cool to have seen one of the original Sean Connery Bond films in the theater...the last few have been lame. Maybe I'll give the franchise another shot and see this new Bond.

I agree. I just saw Layer Cake the other day and whoooowee, I did not think that Daniel Craigs was Bond-material until I saw that move. Hee. He looks quite the handsome topless.

bah.... the actor's only just as important as the car he drives...
what do you guys think? Most people are saying it'll be the AMV8

i don't believe it would be the first time he'd be driving one of those...

oops, nevermind. while looking for pics for this post, i see that the AMV8 has been confirmed as bond's next ride:

i think it would be cool if he drove one of Fisker's new cars... fisker being the dude that designed the AMV8, the DB9, the Z8 (which bond also drove) amongst many other of the world's finest cars. He just started his own car company called Fisker Coachbuild, and believe me, his cars are bond worthy.
here's the latigo, based of the 6 series:

Of course i suppose it would only be proper if he drove a true brittish car.

Those are both (excluding the one in the middle) awesome cars for Bond to drive- VROOM, VROOM... :)

i'm afraid the second aston in my post, the old one, was actually already a bond car. Maybe that picture wasn't as flattering as it could be. I think its one of the coolest bond cars, kinda like brittain's take on the mustang, i love the driving lights...

The second picture definitely does that car more justice. Its not that I think that the car in question is ugly, its just that Bond needs to be pictured in something thats both hot & new. :)

What about the bond girl? Any news on that? Last I heard balloon lips Angelina Jollie was favourite??
