You think they might have better proofreading — at least of the album titles — for that price. :)

IDK why Ocean or his label did this but the title of the album and the written title on album don't match. It's formally named "Blonde"

That’s not bad .. it comes with an LP and/or CD of each album? Right?

Right??????!!!!

This is the real irony here. If you want to actually listen to the music, you have to subscribe.

Back in the day these might have come loaded onto an iPod, or with a license to download the songs from iTunes.

This is why services revenue + Wall Street demand for growth every quarter is a corrupting force. It warps everything else around it.

Nah, I just have to get my butt over to the used book store that has a used music section a few towns over...

I also need a room stretcher, as I don't have enough room for the stuff I have now?

But that's a whole different problem.

You folks are misdirecting the frustration.

It’s an Assouline book, they control the presentation and the price, not Apple.

These books are luxury products that are placed on coffee tables in lobbies and meant to look nice even after many people flip through them. The price is fine and the contents are generic enough to be of interest to a random visitor.

I love seeing tech geeks continually get confused by a sector of society they've never heard of.

Is Apple a luxury products company, or not? They partner with them often enough. Apple certainly isn't known for selling cheap products, but this kind of thing doesn't help the public perception that their products are way overpriced or only for rich people.

I guess the sector of society you mean is "people with a lot of money."

Some people seem to think that $450 is unheard of for a limited edition collector's book... I myself own several books by Taschen that were quite a bit more expensive than that 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't think that's even the point. The sad part is that all these posters think the book is being sold by Apple, or at least they set the price.

It's one thing to not read an article. It's another when these posters simply presume this is a product by Apple. These posters have no idea the amount of craftsmanship that goes into books like these. Heck, one can only assume people with a negative post never held a book like this to begin with. Or have no idea who Issey Miyake is.

Take fashion books:
Louis Vuitton Windows $845
Issey Miyake $900
Mario Testino Private View $1,000
Naomi Campbell $1,750
Valentino $2,000

I wouldn't say Apple is a luxury products company. Tech is priced competitively, definitely not in multiples that would justify the label. They don't seem to partner with luxury brands that much either, Hermes for the watches is the only major one.

This kind of thing won't do much for the public perception because it's a very niche product that most will never know about. And like I said, many others recognize that this is an Assouline product, not an Apple product, even if Apple greenlit it.

That's actually not a mistake as the artist/label was spelling it both ways, with and without and "e" at the end, and never being consistent in the marketing for the album, the spelling used on official streaming platforms, album art, etc.

Some theorized that it was intentional, speaking to the way we gender words.

Personally, I think it's just a stupid mistake that led to a lot of discussion and news so the label/artist ran with it to keep people talking.
Not a mistake. Many aren't even aware that Blonde AND Blond are both considered correct spellings of the word, but the latter is just not as common.

There is meaning behind it and is consistent with the way he wrote the songs on the album. Particularly 'Nikes'

Totally incorrect. Apple worked on this internally and then Assouline manufactured the book with Apple approval - to Apple specs. Apple doesn't sell anything with APPLE on it, that it doesn't authorize or approve and suggest pricing on,..clearly with a handsome profit for all. Its just a book!
