Will fix this in the next version! Sorry about that, always a couple bugs on launch day :)

What a fantastic start this app is! Like a Littlesnitch for iOS. So excited for the future.

I wonder though, will you be implementing a ‘per app’ option, or is this not a technical possibility?

It’s just that I do happen to use Facebook and other similar sites, when necessary for work, though I use a dedicated browser to access them. (Brave). Would be great to let this app use certain connections that are banished from the rest of the phone.

Brave Browser:
it natively comes up in a normal unprivate window. You have to close that window and initiate a different Private Window. Just FYI. some internet sites will not permit you access un less you enable cookies and such.

would be nice if there were an app that would permit down load pop up's and advertising but block them from view. All this to spoof the sender that you actually received it.

Same with the Little Snitch up side firewall concept. A allow content to flow just inject errors.

there is plenty of RAM on the user device side and no one would know.

Nice app. But when i try to block a domain nothing happens.
I try my own domain for test but i can still access it with no block.

Anyone have some lists of domains to block all ads (especially YouTube)?

Plenty available on the internet, I use Gasmask on my Mac, blocks 10's of thousands of sites/url's/trackers.

Seems to work as expected here, blocks Facebook.

Just tried connecting to NordVPN, it's a no go.
Another poster said it works, not here, might try to connect to NordVPN first and then use Lockdown.

Edit: Just did that, first connect to NordVPN, then Lockdown, works.

I'm just looking for the big ones, like google ads etc.
Doesn't appear to be an easy way to import lists into this app.

Just FYI:
1. There's no way to disable metrics once they're enabled. :(
2. There's no easy way to import big lists of domains to block

Those 2 features would be killer!

The Facebook (Beta) list seems to block some apple functionality. So far I’ve noticed that search in maps and find my friends do not work with the Facebook list enabled.

It would be great to see list of the blocks that have been triggered rather than just a single count. That would also help track down which entries in the Facebook list are causing a problem.

Both of these coming!

yeah, Fine My Friends isn't working for me either.
I need this app to be functional. So bummed cuz this app seemed so promising. :(

You guys want to hear something scary? I was at a store last week, looking at men’s fragrances. Cue the jokes, but I’m perpetually 15 years old and love the scent of Curve. It just smells nice and I’ve always received compliments.

Well anyway, I had my phone LOCKED, screen off, in one hand, while I picked up and looked at the packaging and price with the other. I never mentioned or said out loud the name of the fragrance. What I DID say was “Oh, I can find this cheaper at Walmart.” (out loud to myself)

I never googled. I never typed Curve into any browser. I never said the name of the fragrance. Just that one line while my phone was locked.

4 hours later, browsing in the iOS Facebook app I came across this advertisement:

https://i.postimg.cc/s2644LSp/3-E60-B26-B-AABD-40-B2-902-F-079-AC96-B7-BAF.jpg

Scary stuff. It means the device accessed both the camera and the microphone without permission.

Is there a way we can prove/verify no data is leaving the device?
This. The full VPN interface is too powerful to give access to for random purposes. We saw this problem with ad blockers in the past, and Apple provided a much more secure method to block content.

This is a really valuable capability, but I think I need more assurance that everything is and forever will be done on device than a statement in the privacy policy.

It’s hard to talk about these instances without people thinking you’re crazy.

My friend had a similar experience with a Google Home.

Spent the evening with friends and were chatting about something they’d never spoken about before. It was something random like gaming PC keyboards. (He’s not a gamer). The next day he’s getting adverts for gaming keyboards on his Android phone.

It’s one of those stories that people just don’t believe!

That’s what it means, huh? There are no other possibilities you can think of? Like, oh, coincidence? Or priming?

My wife, who doesn’t use scents at all, got that ad the other day—I noticed it when she showed me a message my sister had sent her. My sister also doesn’t use any scents and the message didn’t contain any key words for such. It was just a random ad that came up in rotation.

People believe the story, but not the reasoning. Coincidence does not imply causation.
