There's no reason they can't change that. A bit of a redesign, but not that much. Was thinking about the iMac....they make it so thin they can't put the bigger chips in it that need serious heat ventilation equipment, so no CPU up-selling for them - that's a bummer.
use software like SwitchResX to set a 16:10 resolution (theres native retina ones built in still) and the notch goes away
The Notch = The instant NO DEAL
Seriously why does Apple love ruining their beautiful screens with a notch?
Yup, as far as I can tell.Do the iMac keyboard and mouse still have lightning then?
Bravo!I doubt anyone with M1 or M2 chips will be envious about M3
There’s some nice performance increase and architecture changes to GPU but for the vast majority of users… you won’t be missing out much
And all because Apple silicon is so fast to begin with… M1 is still awesome
No wonder they are happy to leave MacBook Airs on M2… for such bursty workload systems there is no real benefit.

It's not when compared with M2 13" Pro it replaced. It's $400 cheaper so suck it up and order more RAM.
To be fair, they just released the 15” M2 Air in June. It’s not like they’re going to update it so soon after or only update the 13”.I doubt anyone with M1 or M2 chips will be envious about M3

You're comparing two different models. Compare it to the 14 inch it replaced. It's not when compared with M2 13" Pro it replaced.
It's the exact same for me, I wont buy a laptop with a notch, period. I'm voting with my money. Thanks for the suggestion, but relying on software to fix hardware issues are never the solution.
I just want to buy a MacBook Pro with NO Notch out of the box, or it's NO DEAL.
But you knew rumors of a MBP were comingAw, damnit. I just bought a new 14” MBP two weeks ago.
Oh well.

It did not replace 14" M2 Pro for sure. 13" Pro with regular M2 is now gone and this 14" M3 Non-Pro is the replacement. You're comparing two different models. Compare it to the 14 inch it replaced.
Want an M2 13 inch MacBook Pro: Here it is: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-air/13-inch-m2 Same specs.
Rectangular screens are boring and dumb. It's the exact same for me, I wont buy a laptop with a notch, period. I'm voting with my money.
