Apple's "just works" is, I find, completely objective.
Thanks for the admission.

Microsoft is useless.Every person I have talked to that has noticed the Windows PC commercials thought they were Mac ads at first lol. So the advertising that Microsoft is doing is making people think of Macs haha, I love it!
I liked these new ads, they are dead true and hilarious. Microsoft is so pathetic. Things are going to be really hurting for Microsoft soon:
1) Windows Vista and all the Mac switchers, Windows 7 is going to be a mess too and on top of the bad taste people already have in their mouths from Vista. Even HP is supposedly making their own OS now.
2) Windows Mobile 7 not till next year with iPhone, Android, & BlackBerry all kicking its A$$.
3) Windows Live internet search with Google dominating all and no Yahoo merger.
4) X-Box and Zune still in the red and Microsoft's only products considered somewhat cool because they don't brand them as Microsoft and copied Apple's hardware and software business model.
So pathetic, Microsoft, always late to the game and just imitates. Well their money is going to run out soon and they will be hurting big time. The tables are already beginning to turn and Microsoft knows it, they are pissed and scared.
They can be cocky if they want, it's not their fault Vista is a blunder and besides every company is cocky. If Apple didn't do dumb things like removing firewire interfaces from its laptops then it would have reason to be cocky. But as it stands Apple is making some pretty dumb ass decisions of late as well.
Another useless post, so because there is no firewire in the new macbooks but most of the other macs have it including a cheaper priced macbook, there's no point in owning a Mac?i love these ads, get a mac,
but to be honest its now a waste of time with the lack of firewire and target disk mode on the macbook
i mean what is the point in buying a mac now.
Apple have shot themselves in both feet really
The macbook is now the new macbook air - good job apple for making the macbook smaller and now useless
Hey smartass, not all PC's have firewire and last time I checked the majority of Apple's computers include firewire.Lame, the Microsoft ads are not about an operating system...so why bring Vista into this. This is Apple just being smartasses.
Microsoft could hit back with the same ad, big pile on advertising and small pile fixing iphone bugs.....my iphone crashed all the way thoguh the keynote last tuesday....not happy about it...and frankly after so many so called patches to fixe issues, this is complete BS for a company that prides itself on "it just works"
If I was in Microsoft, my next ad would be, "I'm a PC and I have firewire"
Most of them don't even use firewire, they just love to complain on the forum and sign a bunch of useless petitions.Funny ad.
Less money? How much do you think that set costs?!
When was the last time you used that port? Apple stopped using the Firefire after the 4th Generation iPod.
How ironic... an advertisement that criticizes a competitor for doing too much advertising.
Seriously, how much money has Apple spent implanting these two characters in our minds? This ad is an amazing display of hubris and hypocrisy.
Microsoft spends more on advertising than Apple.I really like the Bean Counter ad as a piece of comedy, but I'm not sure it's really effective. Along the lines others have suggested, Apple spends a lot on advertising too. In fact, I can't help but think that many people who see this commercial will think to themselves "but Apple really has way more advertising presence than Microsoft does these days..."

Right and most people would fall asleep if they went that way, commercials are meant to capture people's attention not to bore them to sleep.Negative campaigning. If I were an investor, I would be asking serious questions as to why they're not advertising the benefits of OSX, instead of continuous pathetic jibes at Microsoft.
There is an ammount of arrogance and smugness that is measurable in megatons in these adverts - and it reflects the very worst of the Apple fanboy network. They need to shake free of it and extol the virtues of OSX to people who don't know what it is, rather than preaching to the converted with in-jokes and inter-marketting dept. squabbles.
Doug
So go buy your 300 dollar Dell. The bean counters is rather ironic. Charging £1150 for a Macbook, putting a cheap display with piss-poor viewing angles in it, ripping out the firewire, not including the remote and charging another £70 to hook it up to a 30 inch display - THAT is bean counting.
Doug
I just watched them, they're FUNNY!!! PC users just don't get it, because (like their commercial says) they are PCs!
What a sad life to lead...![]()

Hey every company advertises, you do know that right.I totally agree. Whilst I think its good for a giggle, this is a bit of a slippery slope. Apple creates an Vista-bashing ad, Microsoft creates an Apple-bashing ad, then Apple creates a counter-Vista-bashing ad, then Microsoft...
I always thought the Apple "I'm a PC, I'm a Mac" ads that worked the best were the ones that point out the clear benefits to the Macintosh platform, as opposed to Vista. I think that Apple needs to refocus on the positive.
I also think its a bit cheeky to be criticising Microsoft for their advertising budget. Afterall, 'marketing' was one of the 6 aspects that Tim Cook, Chief Operating Officer, highlighted as contributing to Apple's success in the recent keynote to the new Macbooks and Macbook Pros
If they were lame, why is Microsoft copying them?I think the ads are lame. I can't believe the "bash PC" ads have gone so far. It's not particularly classy, and it doesn't really say anything about Apple other than that they need to make fun of someone else to feel better about themselves. Don't bother advertising the benefits of the products themselves, just take our word that they're better.
The cheap shots feel too "John McCain". It was good when we all thought the campaign would be 5-6 ads, but it should be over.
So go buy your cheap PC and be happy then, you'll be better off in the world of Vista. To be honest, after the latest Macbook debacle these Apple commercials don't amuse me anymore...
Are we really better off?
We pay **** loads of money and all we get are glossy screens and inferior connections.
That was funny, don't mind these dudes, they take life too serious.Damn your so cool, I wish I wasn't such a obsequious fanboy drone. I really want to take life seriously, but alas I can not.
Here comes another one, why is your Microsoft copying these ads if they feel so confident in their own products, that's all they know, copying.Yet another set of adverts where Apple fail to extol the virtues of their own products whilst criticising those of others. Negative and a little sad really.
I suppose MS could reply with an ad showing that Vista doesn't need fixed, hence there's no need to put huge amounts of cash into it and that the $300 million campaign - which is comparable to Apple's expenditure - is really just to counteract the mud-slinging from a company that clearly has no confidence in its own products. However, I don't think they're that childish to be honest.
Carry on fiddling whilst Rome burns, Apple.
Right go tell them to be original for once, instead of copying.Lame.
And like Stevie isn't counting all the extra coinage coming in from people having to pay the few extra hundred just to get a firewire port so their investments in personal tech. doesn't become unilaterally obsolete.
Thanks, Apple.
I guess it's even more sad that Microsoft hasn't been able to use all the money spent on advertising to properly -- and once and for all -- spank down these elitist Apple ads.
I am just getting sick and tired of the word firewire, every damn thread is hijacked by people whining about firewire. It now seems that every single thread will be hijacked by the whiners lamenting the lack of Firewire in the new Macbook.
Give it a break whiners - go buy a PC if you feel that strongly but I suspect most of you are just jumping on the bash Apple bandwagon because it makes you feel 'cool'
You are oblivious to the facts that most CONSUMER devices available today are USB2.0 compatible with no FireWire connectivity - you might not like it but you have to face reality.
Jeez.
Lame rebuttal, they copied Apple's ads because they can't think on their own, talk about laaaaaame.Lame rebuttals by Apple. Despite being a Mac user, I do think the Microsoft ads were done well and are effective at conveying the message that PC users (who care's what specific Windows OS) are used by a broad range of persons for a wide variety of applications.
Hey dude you know the majority of Apple's computers come with firewire, if you have that much invested in all that gear, go and buy another Apple computer with firewire or go buy something else from another company. And if someone has invested some £10 000 in gear and Apple software that is over a year old and dependent on Firewire, what are they suppose to do now???? How about you actually read what the complaints are about instead of whinning about seeing threads about it, they do have a legitimate reason for being angry. Apple fans are very loyal and stunts like this is a real slap in the face.
