Thankfully no. We never had SUS running long enough to see that. I got Leopard Server installed on a test machine with Netboot/NetInstall working and then focused on the AD/OD stuff and found out how many problems there were with it. Then we just put it aside till that is fixed and left our Tiger server running. We really want to go to Leopard to use the new Wiki/blog services (blojsom in Tiger is awful to administer) and the iCal server. Maybe by the end of Feb. we can have Leopard server where it should be for a production environment.

Unless all your clients are Macs with safari or using Firefox, the wiki is problematic. Under IE6 and IE7, the interface is incredibly slow....in the way that you start typing and by the time you finish writing a sentence, the first characters start to appear, and then slowly appear. Reminds me of word processing on an old LC-era Mac. In Safari for PC, we had odd drawing of the pages, with the wiki appearing within another frame --- didn't look right at all.

Our AD/OD integration seems to be working fine, with the exception of a binding error from Tiger. Workaround at this point is to manually add the LDAPv3 entry and go find the workstation from Workgroup Manager. It's clunky but seems to function.

1. Time Machine over AEBS
2. AEBS dropped connection
3. Mail
4. AEBS does not always sense my printer
5. improved system stability
6. miscellaneous bugs
7. translucent menu bar :D

Is everyone else hoping the 10.5.2 update is the delay in shipping the macbook airs?

I guess it would only make sense the air requires 10.5.2 due to the remote disc features.

My favorite, completely unsubstantiated, rumor of the moment......

yea, because it's always been readable to me...

do you just have a weird (for the translucency) background image?

My question is, how can you use a background image like that all day? Even if menu bar wasnt transparent i still couldn't stand looking at it for long periods of times, and im generally not sensitive to headaches.

thats the most awful desktop background ever. Surely apple wasnt thinking anyone would put something that atrociuous behind their translucent bar :eek::eek:

How can you read anything at all with this background? It hurts my eyes! :)

For the record that is not my desktop but that doesn't change the fact that the translucent menubar looks horrible and adds absolutely nothing to the desktop other than 'ohh, shiny!'

Anyway, having an option is always nice.

Exactly.

I haven't experienced hangs doing most things, but it DOES, however, hang when attaching art to albums, and especially movies. It's consistent, but irritatingly so.

It's completely normal for this to happen when adding art to movies. In many cases, itunes must rewrite the movie file to appropriate room on the end of the file for metatag info, which holds things like the photo. Likewise to tracks. It has to rewrite the mp4 file. The reason it's shorter with songs is that the files are much smaller.

I'm pretty new with macs, but I'm assuming this is a free update? I was going to order a macbook right now but should this make me wait?

Yeah the updates are free, unlike the Apps for the iPod Touch that Apple is charging $20 for. Crazy. Think of it as Apple's fix for some of the bugs in the OS. Very similar to service packs in the Windows OS. You can order a Macbook now, cause it will most likely come with the most up-to-date software. If not, you can just download 10.5.2 it when it arrives. :D

sms From adressbook via BT

I'm still hoping theyll bring back sending and recieving sms messages trew Adressbook and a BT connected Phone.

List of graphics card driver updates?

Does anyone know which graphics drivers are being updated? I have a new MacBook and the integrated GMA X3100 is buggy. I would be happy to know a new driver is coming within the week.

I'm loving the 9C20 build of 10.5.2. I can't seem to break it, which is a good thing.

The updated drivers for Nvidia 7xxx series cards work very well. I can't really say my system feels faster but it is all around much more stable. :)
