There’s of course the pros and cons of fans. But they need a version without a fan. A matter of choice. A lot of us just don’t want the fan, as illogical as it may be. No moving parts.
He he, I think Apple will from now on keep using their own chips forever and ever. Their ego will not let them switch anymore, even if in, say, 10-15 years they are eventually behind the silicon competition.
I can't figure out why I would buy the pro instead of the air..battery life? The Pro doesn't even have a 32gb ram optionI want to see perf comparisons between the air and pro...
The big all-specs graphic for the Macbook Air indicates that it has a Magic Keyboard. Is that a butterfly keyboard?
Is that a butterfly keyboard?
No, it's a scissor keyboard.Is that a butterfly keyboard?
According to the tech specs on apple's site, it's still 720p.Let me guess. Same crappy webcam
I feel like if it were a 1080p camera, they would’ve mentioned that. Instead they seemed to talk about software improvements that will help with low light, face detection, and images with less grain. In the video the voice also says "improved camera". I suppose it will finally get a 1080p webcam.
Huh? TheThey didn't mention if the keyboard was replaced in the air with the magic keyboard vs the old butterfly?
why do you feel bad for her? The 2020 Air is a great machine and will last her for many years to come. Tell her to enjoy it!A friend of mine just bought a Macbook Air last month, can she somehow get a refund from Apple and get this new model? I feel bad for her.
My guess is clock speed because they had to put a fan on the Pro version. So whats the difference in the pro and the air? Its the same chip right?
The 16GB RAM option is for the Intel CPU. Both Apple M1 CPU versions are limited to 8GB RAM.$1509 education price with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD (and the 8 core GPU -- they have a 7 core GPU and 8 core GPU option). At least Apple is starting with a 256 GB SSD.
Does anyone actually read up on anything before they post anymore? The 16GB RAM option is for the Intel CPU. Both Apple M1 CPU versions are limited to 8GB RAM.
What about all the R&D that they poured into these new chips and architecture? Surely that wasn’t cheap.Wow, can’t believe they switched from expensive Intel chips to their own ARM chips and kept the price the same. The profit margin on these must be insane, even for Apple.
