This is a direct competitor with the lg gram, which supports multiple monitors. It would be nice if it had multiple monitor support, but I have a feeling it won’t.
Fit more stuff to view at once, side by side at a decent res..I’ve never seen the point in larger screened laptops. Always wanted the smallest possible for portability and external display at home … i wish apple would just put a damn M2 in he iMac this season lol
Two ports is enough for me as long as it remains thin and light. Definitely looking forward to this one!We get it … it’s coming and we can’t wait as this is a dream machine for me ever since the first MBA was released … but hopefully with more than 2 usb port …
Bingo...I agree 100% I love my 24" iMac but yeah, it's turning into the red headed step child of the Apple line-up.iMac fans will be so salty if this comes with M3 and the iMac is still on M1. Surely they'll either stick with the M2 or put out a new iMac first.
But if it were, would you drop and give me 20 pushups? 😜Hate to break it to you but, the 15" MBA is not going to be any lighter than the 14" MBP.
I imagine Apple would be the only company in the market selling a 15" laptop with only 2 USB-C ports. They really need USB-C on BOTH sides, even on their 13" Air.If the starting price is 2000+ and the same 2 ports there's going to be allot ALLOT of disappointed people
A 15.5” Air would be a lot thinner than a 14” MBP and would come in around 3.1 pounds (1.4kg) vs the MBP at 3.5 pounds (1.6kg).Hate to break it to you but, the 15" MBA is not going to be any lighter than the 14" MBP.
Same config MBP 14 is just $200 to MBP 16, and $1200 base model M2 Air is already bit high.1599 would probably be the lowest. 1400 is probably a pipe dream.
The iMac is weird anyway. Like it’s from a different design team than all the other Macs.Bingo...I agree 100% I love my 24" iMac but yeah, it's turning into the red headed step child of the Apple line-up.
"series" is the key word here... (MR even used quotes)
If they release more than one size, that means a new 13" as well (maybe a 12"?) - and that would mean an M3 as upgrade to M2.
The M1 took 7 months to go from TSMC volume production to shipping M1 products. That would mean M3s in July.
Announce at WWDC and ship in July?
All of that is IF they use the TSCM 3nm node that entered volume production in 12/22 (N3B?). I would have thought most Apple M3 products would be TSMCs N3E node - which, per the interweb, still hasn't entered volume manufacturing (2H23).
You won't see an M3 this year.if it has a M3 would be interesting to see how it scores against an M1 Pro/Max
Sometimes it’s more about balance and the distribution of weight. A long and thinner laptop could be easier to hold and may ‘feel’ lighter even if it’s the same weight as a shorter and thicker device. Not saying it’s the case here but it could be. Only one way to know for sure.Hate to break it to you but, the 15" MBA is not going to be any lighter than the 14" MBP.
It's where the center of gravity is. If the weight is distributed toward the hinge where you hold it, it will be easier to handle. Heck speaking of handle, make a handle flip out from the bottom to make it even easier. I never understand why so many bulky product boxes don't have handles.Sometimes it’s more about balance and the distribution of weight. Apple tends to use screen size to differentiate the range so we can expect it to be more expensive than the 13 inch M2 Air, but that already quickly gets into 14 inch Pro territory once you add a few upgrades, which will be an even bigger problem for a 15 inch Air assuming a higher base price.
And...that's a completely negligible difference.A 15.5” Air would be a lot thinner than a 14” MBP and would come in around 3.1 pounds (1.4kg) vs the MBP at 3.5 pounds (1.6kg).
It still puts a 15” Air weight closer to the 13” M2 Air weight than to the 14” MBP and not more weight than the 14” MBP as some have suggested.And...that's a completely negligible difference.
I can wait …You won't see an M3 this year.
