Waiting is the 8th level of dante's inferno... I am tracking my :apple: about 30x a day :(

I want to get the new 2.0 GHz Macbook from Amazon but the site still says "Available for Pre-order". What gives I thought these new Macs were supposed to be available in stores late last week? I may have to make a long drive to an Apple store, who wants to "preorder"and wait an undetermined amount of time.

FWIW my MBP was not due for delivery until tomorrow but it made it to the local station over the weekend. The online tracking shows it at the station, but not "out for delivery." I just spoke to FedEx and was told its out for delivery by 10:30am. Woohoo!

My 4GB of Crucial RAM came in Friday, my new Seagate 320 GB 7200 drive is on the UPS truck for delivery today, and my FW800 to 400 cable from monoprice should come in the mail today as well so I'm all set. Can't wait to run it through its paces.

I was just checking the update status on my order, and it said on the truck for delivery. As soon as I closed the tab, the truck arrived!!

Mine arrived about 20 minutes ago. Already put my 4GBs in. It feels a little snappier than my 1.83 Core Duo MBP. :D Can't wait for my HD to arrive so I can start migrating my files.

Mine was just delivered and I found out through the person who signed for it that there is a hole in the box. I don't know how significant it is yet, but I am going to be extremely disappointed if the computer is damaged and I have to get a replacement after waiting all this time.

I won't be able to take a look at it until tonight after work, so needless to say, I am quite anxious.

Cross your fingers for me.

I ordered my MB on the 16th and it shipped from Shanghai today. When I originally placed the order online, I went with standard shipping. I called the 800 number to upgrade to next day delivery, but lo and behold they shipped it standard. They credited the $22 bucks to my account, but since it had already been shipped out for delivery, they couldn't ensure next day. Oh well. Guess I'll have to be patient.

Here are my specs:

MB 13.3/2.4/CTO - $1,597.00 (with corporate discount)
  • 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 2GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x1GB
  • 320GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm
  • SD 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)
  • No iWork Preinstalled
  • Keyboard/User's Guide
  • Country Kit

I will upgrade the RAM to 4GB and would like to also upgrade the hard drive. How do I do this? What kinda hard drive can I upgrade it to? Ideally, I'd love a 500GB hard drive. Does the MB support it? If not, does it make sense to upgrade to the 7200 rpm 320GB hard drive? Any advice would be appreciated.

Very excited to get my MBP myself.

Left FedEx origin facility
SHANGHAI CN
5:27 PM
Picked up
SHANGHAI CN

Would have thought that Apple was assembled in the USA for some reason; who am I kidding tho amirite hehe. Just hope there aren't any shipping blunders along the way. Good ol made in china.

New MBP!

The only people who should be paying Apple for extra RAM are people who don't know how to use a screwdriver.
that will be true later but now it is a good price about $10 more than i have found elsewhere then you have to add shipping so it works out to be about 2-3 dollars more. if you get the higher education discount it is cheaper than you can find anywhere else.

Can't wait

Just ordered on the 19th, shipment notification on 20th, and expected delivery date is 21st - All in one Month.

True. However, if you buy third party you end up with 2 2GB chips and the original 2 1GB chips. If you buy from Apple you end up with only 2 2GB chips.

Plus Apple ED price= $143.10 after tax (At 6%)

OWC price= $142.49 with $2.50 shipping included. If you send in the original chips you get $15 back. (Though I'm thinking it may be possible to sell the chips for more on Ebay.)

Just placed my order for a full-spec MBP w/ SSD! :D This will be my sixth Mac since I switched... in 2004...

They say that recognizing that you have a problem is the first step...

The reason I'm here is because I need a Support Group! That's probably why we're all here.

I went to the Apple Store and bought a 2.0GHz MacBook and a Canon MP480 printer. So far, I'm loving these two things. Apple does make the finest products.

Ordered mine in the late afternoon after the Keynote. They said not to expect it until the middle of this week, but it arrived on Friday! Just 3 days later! How did they do it.
