Every single rumor so far points to idea of an Macbook Air getting the redesign. No Ethernet, No ODD, slim case, retina display. Doesn't that sound familiar? IMO The only line which is getting the redesign is the Air. With the 15 inch model of that line being shown on WWDC.

But most rumors suggest that it's the Macbook Pro getting the work as if we were talking about a MBA without ethernet and ODD... they already are without them. Why make a big fuss?

Although we can't know for sure until WWDC...

This is the best proof that this could be fake:

Why would Apple take the time to change "Mac OS X" to simply "OS X" on their website, even in the system requirements of accessories and software that were released before Lion and for OSes older than Lion (see "OS X Leopard" and "OS X Snow Leopard), yet they would forget to change it on the box of their most popular computer.

Apple usually pays more attention to that kind of details.

I know this might be a silly suggestion, but it could just come down to the fact that the trademark/copyright for that build of OS X *is* Mac OS X, meaning they could refer to it as 'OS X' for streamlining copy in consumer facing blurbs.

But in more legally bound situations, small print etc, it still has to use it's full title.. Obviously this is still left in wonder as they've included the full title in the spec list on the rumoured sticker sheets but I thought i'd mention it as it crossed my mind!

Well in case no one noticed, this is the same source that leaked the MacBook Pro specs last year, and we know how that turned out. It was spot on.

If seems this is legit. Lets assume it is. This raises allot of questions, first this indicates that the 13 MBP is going away. The Air 13 inch is still not on par power wise as the 13 MBP. Apple knows this. Hence the need for the 13 inch MBP.

Second, if this leak is true, Apple feels that the Air is not enough for power users, yet. Once the Air 13 inch can do everything the 13 MBP can do you will see it gone.

Why have two 13 inch laptops that can do the same thing? You can only make a 13 inch so thin and not give up performance. The 13 Air isn't there yet. This leaked 13 inch will run cooler and better. The i5 ivy bridge is almost on par with last years Sandy bridge i7. GPU 4000 is better than 3000 and the inclusion of USB 3.0 is a given. Bigger battery?

And lets not forget, a Quad core i7 may be avail.

The screen is disappointing though if this leak is real.

How does a leaked spec for a 13" MBP indicate that the 13" MBP is going away? You seem fully aware this spec is for a 13" MBP and you seem aware that it is like the 13"MBP and 13" MBA will co-exist, what is the deal with this sentence:

This raises allot of questions, first this indicates that the 13 MBP is going away.

I assume there is a typo in there I failed to notice.

This isn't a fake. Time and time again we get ourselves all excited for mass changes on the upgrade front and then when Apple releases their 'still hanging on to older tech to maximise profit' MacBooks, we're left disappointed. Reality is is that it's hard to believe someone would bother making this label up, especially on a lower tier model (like why not make up a label for the highest-spec machine if you're gunna make up an elaborate fake?). All we can hope I guess is the 13" is the only model getting left 'behind' in the dark ages as far as no SSD goes

Makes every sense that retina isnt there. We dont need it on laptops because the distance from screen is much bigger than ipad or iphone.

And also with integrate graphics it is very possible retina is exclusive to mbps with dedicated GPU

IMO 13mbp shouldnt be called a pro at all. No quadcore, no dedicated gpu.

I agree in every point: A) laptops dont need retina, just a good standard resolution. B) the 13" MBP is not really "pro" as of now.

Yes, Apple usually pays attention to every little detail. However, since the launch of Lion, Apple has been loosely using both 'Mac OS X' and 'OS X'.

The Apple Online Store, the Mac App Store and the product pages have been using 'OS X'.

The PR page uses both 'Mac OS X' and 'OS X':
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2011/07/20Mac-OS-X-Lion-Available-Today-From-the-Mac-App-Store.html
http://www.apple.com/pr/products/os-x/os-x.html

Current product boxes with Lion use 'Mac OS X':

It's still 'Mac OS X' in the Lion OS even with the logo change in last month's 10.7.4 update, but 'OS X' in the Mountain Lion OS:

So since the product is to be released next week, they're going to be shipped with Lion and the box will continue to use 'Mac OS X' until Mountain Lion is released later this summer where it'll change to 'OS X'.

Let's not forget the original poster also came to post CPU references for the 15" which were of Sandy Bridge CPUs. This made him lose credibility to my eyes. As far as I am concerned, he's not a reliable source.

For anyone looking for 13´alternatives look to further :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oOoB3Rj3GI
The Ultrabook Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A comes backed with a full hd screen ,newest cpu and 128 ssd :)

Im looking at the UX32VD

Ok, alternative, but why waste money on a Windows machine when you can run it using bootcamp or vmware?....
)
The specs? Im torn between a MBP and Zenbook Prime but if the MBP has a 1280x800 resolution then I definetly will not be getting it and will go for the Asus instead. Its that simple for me

Looks to me like an updated 13" Air will be closer to a Zenbook competitor than the 13" MBP, if there even is a consumer-available 13" MBP after Monday.

Disappointing if true, means the 13" ends up the bastard child of the line again. I wouldn't mind a thinner laptop etc, as long as it have a nicer high res type screen with antiglare for an option like on my 15". But I much prefer the size of the 13" for traveling, planes, lounging around etc.

If this ends up true then looks like I'll have to look into a new Air since rumors also point to it getting updates/redesign like nicer screens and longer battery life. Guess we'll see, I didn't like the Air and promptly returned it and got the 13" Pro... but maybe the new one will change my mind.

No the Zenbook Prime UX32VD is closer to a MBP than an Air

Well, if the MBP had a dedicated GPU. That's the only way I see the 13" MBP staying as a consumer product is if it gets a dedicated GPU to differentiate it from the Air line.

I suggest you look at the new Sony Vaio Z instead of Zenbook, here are my reasons why:

•You can get quad core i7 instead of ultra low voltage i5, with is slower than the current CPU in 13" mbp, or full power dual core i5 if you don't need the quad core.

•Extended slice battery fit under the body with combined power of 95Wh (same as 17" mbp) with total weight less than 4lb.

•Vaio Z have twin ssd setup in raid 0, so faster performance than standard ssd.

•Memory Stick PRO Duo reader, means you can get a cheap adopter with two micro sd slots, very cheap addition storage solution popular with PSP users. You also got the SD card slot as well.

•More ports such as Ethernet, upto 8Gb of RAM, same 1080p resolution screen.

•All the above in a carbon fibre/magnesium body weight less than the 13" mba.

Also I'd bet the build quality of the Vaio Z (Sony flagship) is higher than any devices come from Asus, it is build in Japan after all.

Still I'll buy a 13" mbp if it have 1600X1080 matt screen as BTO.

Nice to see Ethernet is still present and the addition of USB3, but given WiFi is about to move into the next generation (i.e. 802.11ac), it would have been nice to see that feature appear NOW instead of later. It's just another "Wish I had waited" type feature that you know COULD have been available now, but was withheld for another year or so. It's bad enough when something new comes out a year later after buying a new computer, but buying one already knowing about it ahead of time sucks. Just another dongle to add, I guess. I have mixed feelings about Retina displays (with those sized screens, I'm not sure I'd care that much to wait on that feature, but you can never have fast enough network connections).

couldn't agree more. And its not just the media and fans that create this hype, Tim Cook has been hinting that amazing products are coming. Problem is the vast majority of consumers aren't the type that read these forums or really have any idea whats going on. I was saving up for new MBP to replace my late 2008 model. Oh well. at least we have a iPhone coming in sept/oct.

The press release and product box specs that you linked were written before the switch to "OS X" in all the images I posted.

The only thing that they mysteriously kept to "Mac OS X" since then is the About this Mac page. I'm not sure why, but they will probably eventually switch to simply "OS X" even in Lion.

Hmmmmm... perhaps the 17" will get dropped, 13" updated slightly and perhaps Apple will show a 15" air and the 15" Pro will get the retina display?

I guess we'll see.

The OP says:
..... AIR这次会有很大的变动,大家期待吧!

There will be great changes for this AIR this time, please everyone wait!

13寸的PRO将有一款采用ivy 2.5G I5处理器,1600 DDR3的内存,依然是1280X800的分辨率,外观和目前的MD313完全一样!

The 13 inch PRO will use the IVY 2.5G I5 apparatus, 1600 DDR3 internal mem., and surprisingly is 1280x800 screen display, the outward appearance will be completely the same with the current MD313.

In summary: 13 inch MBP will receive an incremental improvement, the AIR will be overhauled. So: Buy an air.
