New Macbook Pro 13 specs?

Label

Does it bother anyone that the label on the box isn't the normal label on macbook pro boxes?

Even if it was true, these were all rumors after all. I mean, I got excited for some crazy overhaul too, but in the end, we have to remember the name of the site we're on. :D
But it's totally fake. Believable specs, but fake nonetheless.

People are just full of it. I don't care much for the rumors at this point. In only 5 days we will all know what's up! And then pour our wallets into Apple's bank accounts. :)

Didn't they change the name from "Mac OS X" to "OS X"? It is still "Mac OS X" in the spec.

Nope still says Mac OS X on my box (Late 2011 MBP 13"), heres the pic of the sticky:

But WWDC release is also a rumor....

When Fobes and WJS write about it, it's not a rumor.

Furthermore, everything aligns that WWDC is the day of announcement. The only rumors are everything posted on this website.

As far as the release is concerned, you can always pre-order. And that's pouring money into Apple's bank accounts.

Busted!

I don't have time to read through all of the comments, so sorry if someone else pointed this out already. The description says "Mac OS X" that is wrong it is now simply "OS X."

please don't tell me you are not serious?

how does the fact that apple places "pro" on the end of the product mean that Apple is anything BUT a cosumer based company? the MacPro is severely outdated, NO pro-sumer (or enterprise) company would let that happen. the MacPro doesn't even have top of the line specs, and this new model won't either (same for the MacBook "Pro"). OS X Lion Server is SEVERELY crippled. Lion is single-monitor centric, making it not nice to use full-screen apps on multiple monitors. the list goes on, and i didn't even mention peripherals or GPUs/etc.

as a fairly pro-sumer based user, i can TELL you that you are wrong.

What if your business used token ring? Or dial-up? Rather than petitioning Apple for antiquated ports you should petition your IT department to banish antiquated policies. BTW, I realize that neither petition will actually works so here's a dongle =>

Ethernet is far from being antiquated within businesses or institutions. It still beats Wifi hands down in terms of speed, security and reliability.

I am part of the IT department. Remove that port and I have less arguments to convince management to buy Macs.

And dongles are just plain bad; they are impractical, expensive and ethernet over USB sounds far from being performant.

being in IT, i COMPLETELY agree with you. most of my friends could not understand my hatred towards the idea - im glad i FINALLY have found somebody who agrees :)

Has anyone seen this? it was posted only 4 hours ago so it's pretty breaking stuff. I'm not saying that this is true, i'm just saying that it has just as much a chance of being true as the 13-inch leaked specs. for all intensive purposes though, i hope this is true...I'm planning on the 15-inch regardless and this would blow my mind.

Looks legit to me.

The 13" MacBook Pro is an entry level "rebranded" MacBook.

Therefore the specs look normal to me. Seriously where the hell is Apple going to source all those expensive IPS Retina displays from yet keep their high margins?

USB 3.0 and SDXC is in line with Ivy Bridge.

------

As with 15"; looks like the higher end channel configuration. Double the 1280x800 on a 15"? That seems a bit weird. If I don't need to enable Retina and only use it as a 2560x1600 display, that would be useful to me.

Retina display... and FOUR USB 3.0 ports? SIXTEEN GB of RAM? No... this seems fake. I can't imagine even an extremely high-end 17 inch model selling with specs like that, let alone a 15 inch model. We won't see computers like this for a good 4-5 years.

The fine print font is completely incorrect. That is an absolute fake. Someone realized they could create a fake label on MS Word and decided to submit it to 9to5. This is ridiculous people.

Apple will release a redesign. Don't worry.

you're probably right, it was just hopeful thinking i guess.
the only things i'd really want to see is:

Core i7 Ivy Bridge
an appropriately sized SSD
Retina Display
a lack of ethernet port and Superdrive, giving way to slimmer formfactor.

Apple can accomplish a slimmer form factor without cutting out Ethernet. They can implement a "collapsing" Ethernet port like on the HP spectre notebook, or INCLUDE and adapter and put a mini-Ethernet connector on the laptop.
