I just checked this out as I have the exact same machine. Tempting to trade it in for the many upgrades (screen, battery life, processor). Hmmm...$1,389 after trade in received....My 14" is ordered! WOOT!
Decided to keep it to 10-core CPU/16-core GPU/16GB RAM/1TB SSD -- all it needs to be is a competent upgrade from my mid-2020 13" MBP AKA "the lapburner" and last until the Armv9 M2 Pro/Max machines are available in a year or two.
They gave me US$1010 for my minty 13" MBP 2.3GHz i7/16GM RAM/1TB SSD, which was a bit better than expected actually. Figured it was good to get rid of it now while Intel-based machines are still worth much of anything.
You people are insane with this notch.
You could either:
a) have more bezel and no notch
b) have the notch with less bezel everywhere else
Apple made the obvious choice.
The product page for the new MBP shows macOS Monterey in the list of features. Does that mean that these will ship with Monterey installed? I don't recall any mention of that in the event video. And I don't recall any mention of a release date for Monterey (maybe I missed it).
I expected this notch to be a joke, but no. I wanted to upgrade to a sleek premium bezel-less macbook and I just can't digest this one. DELL XPS 13 is waving at me
Too bad it runs Windows and also has lesser hardware overall.I expected this notch to be a joke, but no. I wanted to upgrade to a sleek premium bezel-less macbook and I just can't digest this one. DELL XPS 13 is waving at me
A 10 year old MacBook would keep up with that lifestyle. I hope this post is sarcasm.Okay, it is perfect for my tasks of viewing video content like on DVDs, viewing and writing emails, doing DM, viewing YouTube! and doing social media on Twitter? Listening to streaming music too! Seems to have enough power to keep up with my lifestyle! Of course buy the top of line specs but only 1 TB of storage, 32 core GPU, 64 GB RAM, M1 Max, 16" screen size!
ye cant find these,do you know who may have more infos ,perhaps in a week ,after some reviews? im rather shocked they havent shared theseThey don’t even specify the number of dimming zones on these new MacBook Pros, so I doubt it will be better than the iPad Pro.

Go to the very bottom of the apple homepage. Then click the link in the 4th column under "For Education" that says "Shop for College." That link brings you to the same store, but everything is around 200 off (for MBPs).Gugy - I am trying to figure out how to get the Edu discount. It is for my son who is a college freshman. If I go directly on Apple website to purchase I get the same price if I search Edu discount. What am I missing?
That's funny as the MacBook Air design dates from 2010. The guts are new, but the case is nearly identical with that decade old design. In term of Design, i‘m very disappointed. This Macs look like the Models of 2011. I would have expected something like the MacBook Air… something Modern.
The Silicon Chips are awesome.

Right, the main "progress" in these "new" laptops was to bring back ports that were idiotically removed 5 years ago and to ditch the horrible touch bar for traditional function keys (not to mention the years-long faulty keyboard fiasco). Pretty amazing that Apple can take away useful features and then bring them back years later, spin them as an improvement and sell it for $1999 to start! Let the peasants keep using their dongles for paying any less. What I don't understand is how Dell can make a laptop with thin bezels and still fit a webcam on top without needing a notch. Maybe Apple needed the extra space to eventually add Face-ID in a future model, but wanted to get the criticism out of the way now. While the chips are great I'm a little disappointed these Macs look virtually the same as my Macbook Pro from 2013. I would have thought more progress would have been made in 8 years, especially considering the price is so high.
I meant spatial audio!I'm not familiar with the latest Logic Pro, is the interface getting more flat design or more "realistic?" (Hoping for "more realistic" which translates to more intuitive/easy to use for many like myself.)
Somehow my reply was saved under the wrong text. Sorry about that.I meant spatial audio!
