I’m hoping for a MagSafe/USB-C combo port. Having both available would accomplish the same thing I suppose, but combining them would be really cool.

What's the liklyhood of an updated intel top end model? An 11th gen or even 10th gen CPU for those who still need intel / many of the features possibly not available under M1* that we get with intel based boards?

Would it really need magnets? If its supposed to be plugged out when you trip on the cable magnets would be counterproductive. For me the USB C makes a great magsafe substitute, the ports of my MacBook Pro have become too loose that if you trip on the cable the MacBook is not even going to move a millimeter

Seems trivial but I really hope they will offer more colors besides Silver and Darker Silver.
I'd love a true black color but I've not read any rumors about new color options for the Pros. I have heard there will be color options for Macbook Air next year but who knows? The pundits were sure wrong about the Apple Watch this year so it's anyone's guess.

It would be very unlike Apple to call the chip "M1X", as it would be based on the new CPU A15, and as such a new architecture with double the cache and much more powerful efficient cores. Thus, they will give the new CPU at least a new number!

I believe this will be an A14-class SoC.

I don't expect to see an A15-class SoC in a Mac until the 2022 MacBook Air ("M2").

And with so many CPU and GPU cores, "M1X" is still going to be significantly faster than "M2".

While MagSafe would be nice, why not just design a USB-C MagSafe connector and stick with what is now a pretty standard, and widely available, power connector? The physical cable need only provide power, simplifying the design a bit; and allowing the port to be used as a normal USB C as well.

I imagine the price will be unleashed as well...
One potential problem is the max power provided by USB-C PD. That could be one thing to unleash. If you go with MagSafe, you can include a power adapter higher than the 100W USB max, unleashing the 16" MacBook Pro.

I've got this problem with an HP ZBook from work. It can charge via USB-C when asleep but USB-C doesn't provide enough power so it has its own 150W proprietary charger.

Dear Clients, the pandemic has gone on for far too long and I'm ready to get back to work. I would like to replace my aging Mid'15 MBP with the new version, please call me...

Not sure what you’re implying. Apple makes MacBook Pro since 15 years, and this model would already be the revised version of the first Apple silicon MacBook Pro.
They've been making this particular design for 15 years? Funny, I thought it was a new design, with a new chip, different ports, etc. You know, as described in the rumors.
