:D Can't wait to get my hands on one. Please let there be an option for the new Quadro FX3600M.

Schwiiiiiing!

New MBP's aye? So my SR MBP is about to finally be made obsolete... Sad...

This better be true!

A newbie status has nothing to do with the reliability of the "inside" information he or she could came up with.

The fact that a later search for the part # on BB system shows nothing found could be the act of Apple calling up BB to take care of business.

With that said, i'm just like so many others here at MR, holding my breath till tomorrow.....ooooohhhhh wait..........:(

Should i atay up late tonight and just keep refresing my apple store web page? anyone know when do they usually take the site down for new announcement?

Too many people are suffering over this waiting game of MBP.
We need to encourage each other, not the other way...
it's all Apple's fault.

Agreed... We get ourselves all riled up and then Apple always finds a way to kill a little bit of our soul.

Tuesday will come and go - and we will all die a little inside. :(

No 3G 16Gb iPhone with MMS...
No new Macbook Pro's...
No iPhone SDK...

All we can do is speculate and hope. APPLE?!?!?! ARE YOU LISTENING TO US APPLE?!?! CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?!?!?!! WHY JOBS...... WHYYYYYY!!!!!

Sorry, wayyy to much caffeine and the Mrs. wasn't feeling well this morning, so I have a lot of excess energy. Don't mind me.

You work for Best Buy? Higher up perhaps?

I'm sure more people would like a little background on you and how you came across these. Don't disclose anything that may get you in trouble with your employer but give us something.

I just finished a term of employment with Best Buy. Any associate with access to the inventory network (everyone except cashiers) search for stuff by model, SKU, or even manufacturer (which would be Apple in this case).

While I really hope this is true and we get some new MBP's tmrw, i really doubt that Best Buy would know Apple's plans. I mean whenever Apple's asked about future products, they dont even confirm they exist, so given this how is best buy going to know before anyone else?

I doubt this rumor, even though i hope it's true

I guess we'll just find out tmrw

I understand what you mean, in that Apple is unlikely to rely solely on Intel GMA graphics, but there does seem to be more to Montevina than simply the current Penryn processors and some accessory components on a new board. From Wikipedia you get the following:

Some people might appreciate the faster FSB, DDR3 support, DisplayPort support, Robson 2 and at least support for WiMax ... even if they don't need the other parts. Performance and functionality boosts may be enough to make some people wait.
Robson 2 is a add on and DisplayPort will have to be part of the 3rd party video card used in the mac pro not as a part of the chipset.

For all you best buy employees out there, do us all a huge favor. Get the sku number of new MBPs and go to the sign machine in the warehouse and print out the display tag for it. Take a picture of it, and upload it to the web. I worked at best buy for 5 years so I know it's possible, unless they changed the the access to that special printer to only merch employees. in that case, give the numbers to one of the merch guys and have them print it.

The display tag will give us specs and price. I'm tired of hearing about new sku numbers from best buy employees. A new sku is worthless because best buy adds thousands of them a week, many for products they don't even sell in store.

GREAT IDEA! lets see if someone actually does it...

Well, there you have it. Either it didn't happen or Apple legal just moves really quick.
I would have thought that the OP or other "confirming" poster would have at least taken
a cell phone pic or something.

"Well there you have it"? Either it didn't happen or it did and Apple legal moves really quick, but whatever happened, "There you have it," doesn't seem appropriate. There was no resolution at all.

You're right. Resolution happens tomorrow. ;)

A lot of people are getting excited, but no one seems to be able to reconcile this discrepancy in the model number 'MB***'.

God, I'll be disappointed if new macbooks are released tomorrow.

The only way to reconcile that difference is based off the prices...and also AI said that they've had conflicting information for that...

but would a low end MB sell for $1999? so, there is no way that could be the MB...

AI article http://www.appleinsider.com/article...art_numbers_surface_in_inventory_systems.html

Maybe the prices are wrong, but the question is: what update could suffer the macbook when the specs difference between MBP and MB is already too little?

Also why it doesn't make sense...Could you imagine them upgrading the MB to penryn before the MBP's?

besides the outrage from this board, what would make customers want to buy the MBP over the MB (besides appearances and the graphics card..)

You've nailed my grip with a MB update. An update to the MB would just about kill the MBP's. You'd essentially be getting a $1000 MBP.

Or maybe, what's being updated tomorrow is just the iMac with the penryn processors, as 9to5mac points, but that doesn't explain the model numbers found in best buy

If possible, someone really needs to go do this.:D

This appears to me to be a possibility. Do iMacs have similar model numbers, or no?

The iMac is about due for a refresh.

People are going to be crapped off, MBP updates are so anticipated. Apple would really be throwing one in from left field.

My bet is on a massive update.

There are currently 3 computers that are do for an update (historically)

I predict... Drum roll

New MacBook Pros
New iMacs
and
New Mac Minis or something to replace them

Lets all hope this is true :D
