rumor confirmed my Appleinsider!!
This has to be true!!
Tomorrow, NEW MACBOOK PRO!!!!![]()
Too many people are suffering over this waiting game of MBP.
We need to encourage each other, not the other way...
it's all Apple's fault.
You work for Best Buy? Higher up perhaps?
I'm sure more people would like a little background on you and how you came across these. Don't disclose anything that may get you in trouble with your employer but give us something.
Can't wait to get my hands on one. Please let there be an option for the new Quadro FX3600M.
Robson 2 is a add on and DisplayPort will have to be part of the 3rd party video card used in the mac pro not as a part of the chipset.I understand what you mean, in that Apple is unlikely to rely solely on Intel GMA graphics, but there does seem to be more to Montevina than simply the current Penryn processors and some accessory components on a new board. From Wikipedia you get the following:
Some people might appreciate the faster FSB, DDR3 support, DisplayPort support, Robson 2 and at least support for WiMax ... even if they don't need the other parts. Performance and functionality boosts may be enough to make some people wait.
For all you best buy employees out there, do us all a huge favor. Get the sku number of new MBPs and go to the sign machine in the warehouse and print out the display tag for it. Take a picture of it, and upload it to the web. I worked at best buy for 5 years so I know it's possible, unless they changed the the access to that special printer to only merch employees. in that case, give the numbers to one of the merch guys and have them print it.
The display tag will give us specs and price. I'm tired of hearing about new sku numbers from best buy employees. A new sku is worthless because best buy adds thousands of them a week, many for products they don't even sell in store.
Well, there you have it. Either it didn't happen or Apple legal just moves really quick.
I would have thought that the OP or other "confirming" poster would have at least taken
a cell phone pic or something.
"Well there you have it"? Either it didn't happen or it did and Apple legal moves really quick, but whatever happened, "There you have it," doesn't seem appropriate. There was no resolution at all.
The only way to reconcile that difference is based off the prices...and also AI said that they've had conflicting information for that...
but would a low end MB sell for $1999? so, there is no way that could be the MB...

Maybe the prices are wrong, but the question is: what update could suffer the macbook when the specs difference between MBP and MB is already too little?

Or maybe, what's being updated tomorrow is just the iMac with the penryn processors, as 9to5mac points, but that doesn't explain the model numbers found in best buy
