USB-C is TB3
No, it is not, it's the other way around. Thunderbolt 3 is always USB-C but USB-C is not always Thunderbolt 3, sometimes it's just USB 3.1 unless there is the addition of an Alpine Ridge controller.
USB-C is TB3
Yes...original black and white MacBook in 2006 was done with a press release believe it or not.Has Apple ever revealed a new notebook computer design with a mere press release in the last two decades?
NOPE THE ONLY ONE THAT MATTERS IS THE MACBOOK PRO.... TOOO LONGWhat about other Macs? Whole lineup needs updates.
My guess, same price same screen with the slow SSD.I'm curious as to what they're going to do with the MacBook Air pricing model. It's currently priced at $999 and it's expected to gain all of the features of the 12" MacBook that is currently priced at $1299. They're either going to have to dramatically increase the price of the Air or dramatically lower the price of the retina MacBook.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the prices on all these vs the current models.
I can't believe Apple is shipping a product with an input method (Qwerty keyboard) that was developed in 1868. They should have 'courage' and remove the keyboard replacing with just one giant wireless detachable touchpad where you scribble out your input. Sure it'all only last 5 hours before needing recharging and the latency for gaming will be worse and it will have no tactile feedback, but this is future! Stop looking backwards and get with the program!
THANK YOU!
I always feel like I'm alone in this view. I guess this prevalence comes from all the 'prosumers' who think they're pro but really aren't, who're using normal compact cams or entry- to mid-level DSLRs that have switched to SD a while ago for whatever reasons only known to Canon and Co. (probably because the cards are cheaper = more appealing to people).
I mean, even while latest pro models offer SD slots, they ALSO continue to offer CF ...I wonder why...![]()
Finally, getting rid of all the standard ports and replacing them with a bunch of usb-c ports that need adapters for all my devices.
What makes you think they can't make a thinner MagSafe connector?Size.
So invites go out sometime this week? Maybe tomorrow or thursday?
THANK YOU!

The USB C flash drives on the market cost over twice the regular ones, and are much bigger in that they include both USB A and USB C. I can see this being a reasonable transition, however, if they plan on using USB C for a long, long time. I will miss flush USB flash drives, though. Plus, they've been shipping iPhones with USB A ports forever even though they sell a computer (MacBook) that only has 1 USB C port, and I'm sure many people like myself use their computers to charge their iPhones. I would prefer they keep a couple of USB A ports, but I can understand the appeal of a reversible port. The MacBook with a single USB C port never seemed reasonable.
Eliminating the SD card port means one more cable I'll have to keep track of for transferring images from my camera, and I'll have to get some sort of special adapter for it, as well.
