I wouldn't be surprised if there won't be an event. To fill an entire hour with a touch panel and a slightly thinner body is rather...difficult. And no rumors at all point towards anything else, that's in the pipeline.

I think they could. Even though I am as impatient as the next, when you actually look at the design films it is pretty impressive the design that goes into the products. Easy to forget. Recently watched the design film from the Macbook, pretty awesome.

And every day is another day that Apple is still selling 15" MBPr's with freakin HASWELL processors two generations old and still charge premium price, full price, no discount.

Who pays full price for any new Mac? Best Buy, B&H Photo, Adorama, etc, have discounts on Macs most all of the time, sometimes for a few hundred dollars off retail. I wouldn't pay full MSRP for a Mac on launch day much less when it's been over year since they've been updated and neither should anyone else.

I expect integrated graphics cards on the macbook "Pro", except for the most expensive version where you can also have an underclocked two-three year old discreet mobile graphics card. WOOT!!!

I don't think this source is reliable.

I remember this source said Apple will announce new MBP with iPhone 7 on autumn event, proved to be fake information.

Please keep the MagSafe- I am another one of those who has an adapter in multiple locations. As far as the keyboard, yeah the newer ones suck, but I type very little these days, using Dragon Dictate Medical for work.

Bitch bitch bitch. That is all most people do here. Almost unbearable. Now I know why I don't participate much.
You're right, we should all be more grateful for our current outdated Mac lineup. It's not like any of us could run the company any better. Apple's making billions, what's the problem? Steve would've allowed this.

Did I miss anything?

Hoping to see a iMac refresh at the same time. Cool to see 2 new models, a 30" and a 24" to replace the 27" and 21.5".

Please no! I've had a pretty cheap year this year so far, only the ipad pro bought :) A 30" iMac with a semi-serious GPU would come under "must buy".

Please keep the MagSafe
I actually do hope they ditch MagSafe, but only because it's proprietary. Because it pained me to pay $79 when my last A/C adapter cable got cut. In the future, I could run out and buy a much cheaper USB-C cable replacement. I look forward to that.

If they want to keep MagSafe around, allow third party cable manufacturers.

It wouldn't be a modern ultra-thin Mac, unless you also had to carry around a gross ton of adapters.

But at least it's ULTRA thin.
For a while I carried around an ethernet to Thunderbolt adapter and a FireWire to Thunderbolt adapter. Of course Apple, in it's infinite wisdom, also required me to carry arround ethernet cables and firewire cables. But eventually I weaned myself from them. Once I switch over to USB-C, I'll probably get a USB-C capable external drive, and move all my offline files to that.

Come to think of it, I only use the portable drive out of habit. There really aren't any files I need on the go that won't be available most of the time using CloudDrive.

My days of connecting my laptop computer to peripheral devices using wires are mostly in the past. And not carrying around wires and peripherals like the portable scanner and the external drives in my laptop bag means I won't have to carry adapters either. Apple finally made the portable personal computer actually portable. If they can also get rid of the power cable....

And every day people purchase HASWELL processors they don't use at even 70% of their capacity in their entire Rmbp life. But you just love saying stuff like this as if you know so much about it.
The processor is one of the last things that need to be updated to accommodate to 95%of their customers.

Yeah, but anything other than speed bumps? And those don't actually need any time dedicated to during an event.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have an event, I just don't see it happening. Filling an entire event with just normal speed updates and ONE major redesign thing just doesn't seem likely...I mean, in September we had the iPhone, the Watch...software...There was a LOT.

They could do MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, and maybe just maybe 4K Apple TV.

That'll fill the usual time slot. I mean the first 10-15 minutes are usually videos and recap of hardware sales and such.

MacBooks have been updated earlier this year and no major update is expected. iMacs...probably only spec bumps. And Apple TV...well, there aren't any rumors, I highly doubt it.

I'm not really convinced. At the same time, Apple NEEDS to convince everyone why they NEED that touch panel etc. pp. and what better way to showcase than during an Apple event...

What benefit could there be to eliminating the Magsafe connector?

I don't understand the logic behind that decision, if its true.

And also, not ALL photographers use SD. Dammit. This argument keeps coming up and yet I know a whole bunch of photographers (pro and amateur) who liberately still use CF.

...

Why is this statement so prevalent on this forum. Pro photographers mostly use Compact Flash cards with an external reader no SD cards.heck, the Canon 1 Series pro bodies don't even have an SD card slot. They had two CF slots for awhile and now CF and the newer CFast. In most high end DSLRs using an SD card will actually cripple your burst speed because it can't write fast enough.

THANK YOU!

I always feel like I'm alone in this view. I guess this prevalence comes from all the 'prosumers' who think they're pro but really aren't, who're using normal compact cams or entry- to mid-level DSLRs that have switched to SD a while ago for whatever reasons only known to Canon and Co. (probably because the cards are cheaper = more appealing to people).

I mean, even while latest pro models offer SD slots, they ALSO continue to offer CF ...I wonder why... ;)
