still expected 28th oct :( although its a day early how on earth are they sending it? carrier pigeon?

the wait continues................

Mine's not yet shipped either. :( I really hope I get it by the end of the coming working week. Does anyone know who Apple use these days for UK deliveries?

Apple tend to use UPS a lot, or TNT. Every order I've placed with Apple have always been delivered using UPS. And They usually arrive NEXT DAY from when it was shipped.

I'm hoping I get mine. I ordered on the 14th, and Estimated Shipping is 8 days from that :(

Im afraid the 8 days is how long until its shipped, most orders are coming from China, then they go to apples dispatch place, then given to the currier to deliver. Log in online at www.store.apple.com/uk/managemyorder and see what the date of delivery is.

I ordered my macbook pro 2.53 with 128 ssd on the 15th October in the uk and it said that it will take 7 days before they ship it due to the high demand, it is then scheduled to arrive on 3-4th November, how can it take nearly 10 days to be posted to me? What carrier do apple use in in the UK and does anyone know if apple are over cautious with their estimated dates and so it may arrive earlier?

Thank you

Once it's shipped can you track the order further with the shipping company or do you have to just wait until a random arrival at your door?

tracking info just updated and its left shanhai! and will be with me on the 22nd a whole week early!!

wooohoooo shiney!

I can confirm that Apple Regent Street did not get any more MBPs in stock today. I'm there now, thought I'd give it a shot. :(

They get more than one delivery of stuff a day though, right?

I'm thinking a 2.8 from the online store is a better bet at the moment.

I only have to wait a couple more days than everyone else for my 2.8 if you want it now and need it now then the 2.5 from instore (if you can get one) else the wait online is about the same.

Hi people,
was your "Ships" prediction accurate or was it actually more (or less) ? I ordered mine on the 15th and it ships in "7 business days" so the delivery is scheduled for 29-30th Oct. I'm not in UK though; I'm in Berlin.

cheers,
Tex

I went back about an hour ago and asked again. They said they weren't expecting any more in today. He said they usually get their shipments after the stores closed, ready for the next day. :(

That's good though! So they might be in tomorrow!

Sigh, another aday

Pardon me while I vent for a moment. Despite the complete farce I've had with Apple not managing to authorise my credit card payment initially (see earlier post on the subject) they finally managed to sort themselves out today. Nevermind that they clearly had some kind of system issue, nevermind that it was no fault of mine whatsoever, nevermind the ~20 calls I've had to make between Apple and Amex...

They absolutely refuse to upgrade the shipping in any way, even on threat of me cancelling the order. In fact the idiot I just spoke to refuses to admit that an express shipping option even exists.

So I guess the dozens of posts (if you search the forum) claiming they were given express shipping are all just fantasy?! What a joke Apple!

Well, they're as likely to have them in tomorrow as they were today. They're not expecting any in tonight but then they never expect anything in, it turns up when it turns up. :(

twynne, I don't think Apple UK offer any kind of express shipping. Sometimes people have had their orders 'prioritised' etc but I don't think it actually means anything and is just a way to placate people. If they could do express shipping, I'm pretty sure they'd have it as an extra fee available in the store.

Hi Spanky,

I know they don't offer express shipping via the order system, but I'd be very surprised if they don't have ways of speeding up delivery when they've screwed things up. There are tons of posts about this sort of thing in this and other forums.

A slight update - I've just had an email from a rep saying they've put it on a 'Priority 1' for build, but they still can't do anything about the shipping.

I'm only bothered as I'm worried it won't even hit the original shipping estimate now as it was on hold for so long. If this were my first issue with an order via the online store I'd forgive it, but it seems to happen EVERY time I order something.

I love Apple hardware, but at times I wish their online system would just work like everyone else's... ie. you order, next day it ships, third day it's usually in your hands. Maybe they need a Europe-based manufacturing/distribution centre... :D

OK, I went along today, and at least they had the new display on display, so I could have a fiddle around with that. :)

3-4th of November for me.

So disappointing. really wanted it before the weekend.

Oh well - has anyone had any luck with them arriving before the initial date listed?

Also, what are the chances of getting a 2.4 / 4gig / 320gig HD - Macbook in the Regent St store?

Might just cancel this if I stand a chance of getting it in-store.

Zero chance. They don't do CTO orders in store. Sometimes they'll add more RAM but they told me last Friday that they didn't have any RAM compatible with the new MacBooks yet and weren't expecting any more in for a "good while". Not to mention the fact that Regent Street have had no MacBook Pros since they sold out last Wednesday lunchtime.
