Am I the only one getting really fed up with the waiting (and lack of updates) especially when our US friends are getting them delivered all the time? Why are we in Europe treated so bad?

It is annoying, yes, but Apple is an American company and they must cater to their primary customers before all others. But yeah, when you want it, you want it.

I think it's also related to the company doing the shipment... Fedex has overnight delivery and such things while they're sending this packages with the ups saver option.

wwooohooooooo!!

Just checked my status for the millionenth time today and its now saying 'Prepared for shipment' :-D

Spec : mbp 2.53ghz 320gb 7200 HD
Ordered : Oct 15th 9:43pm
Estimated shipping : 7 days
Estimated delivery : 30-31st Oct

hopefully just few more days.

Takes me back to the days when I bought my first mac that was 12" PB then couple years later the PB 15". Never used that refresh button so much until now.

Hang in there soldiers, you time will come. :D

I get what you're saying... I'm a bit calmer now than I was when I wrote that post...

Yeah I agree that Apple is an American company (they're always going on about how their biggest this and that in the US) but then why not do a staggered release?

I think I'm getting more annoyed because people are reporting that Regent St. don't get many, if any, MBPs in their daily deliveries yet there are some US customers who've managed to find defects with their and get them swapped at least once already! Most other companies treat Regent St. like the Holy Land! lol!

Damn it, yours was ordered only 7 minutes before mine but mine hasn't shipped yet. :(

Prepared for shipment

Yee ha!!

Also just checked (and double checked!) my order status page and I can report that my 2.8 Ghz 320Gb 7200rpm Macbook Pro (ordered Oct 14, 2008 at 06:25 PM) is "Prepared for shipment". Delivery date hasn't altered, but it's enough to prevent me sleeping tonight :) How does Apple generate such object lust in us all?!

Will keep you updated on progress.

Prepared for Shipment
Estimated Shipping: 8 Days
Estimated Delivery: 30 Oct, 2008 - 31 Oct, 2008

Same CPU but different (still CTO) hard drive. 250GB 7200 rpm instead.

well if yours said shipping 7days like mine , then hopefully be prepared for shipping sometime today/tonight. By looks of it, it looks like they may be preparing another UK batch

Well, mine's coming to spain sharing plane with some that I know that are going to the UK... so I guess it's not "another UK batch" but "another Europe batch".

And well, it's already left Poland, I wonder what the next stop is...

Well, eventually mine too is ready for shipment. Ordered less than an hour after the store went back up after the keynote.

Hopefully I'll have it before the weekend.

Any idea how long shipping takes? Couple of days?

I seem to have been exceptionally lucky as mine was shipped on Monday morning and I ordered a CTO 2.5ghz (250gb 7200rpm hdd) at 6pm on the 15th.

The UPS tracking page is more than confusing.

If i'm to believe that it's gone shanghai > netherlands (just a short walk from the uk flight wise!) > shanghai > south korea.

That makes no sense. I know sometimes they have delays updating the tracking information and those newer logs could actually be from PRIOR to going to the netherlands. It did suffer an exception yesterday in NL but hopefully it's made it over for today as UPS was saying today was the delivery day. Now they're not saying any day :/ Apple still seem to have the 23rd down, but from past experience they tend to add a day or two on the shipping estimate to meet customer expectations.

I'm from Ireland, so I think I'm in the same boat as the British Users. I ordered mine on the 17th Oct (Had to move some money around :) ) and it shows a delivery date of Nov 4 - 5. Which might as well be a lifetime away! Although if it were to ship in 7 days from point of purchase then it should be delivered before then, is it me or does apple usually overestimate the delivery dates? I ordered a nano there yesterday and it's going to arrive today, although it says delivery date of 24th. I know this is different as this is a new product which is customised but it shouldnt take 9 days for delivery, i'm getting rather impatient! I want my Glassbook Pro!

Shipped!

Mine has shipped :)

Apple website is stating:
Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 30 Oct 2008 (Subject to change)

UPS website reports:
Not all tracking information is available at this time. Please try again later.

Do you reckon I'll get it by Friday?? I have a sinking feeling that I'm gonna have to wait the weekend :(

I believe we are traveling together :)
Unfortunately for you, it seems like yours has been delayed a day as mine was sent only yesterday... My delivery date is 24th according to Apple (nothing from ups), won't be before and hopefully won't be after!

Seems like the next update should be around 5.30pm today, where our packages should arrive in Poland :p

To do with the Apeldoorn, NL situation, this is only the package data.
Gives the customs plenty of time to clear the package so that when it gets there, it can go straight through (hopefully anyway, fingers crossed) :)

Keep me posted with your updates!
