hey do you know how to check which carrier has been designated our packages??? My packages says 'in transit scan' after 'out for delivery'. Apparently the package flew into Dublin over the weekend and awaits the final destination. Am dying to find out when and who it will be delivered by. Can you shed some light on it?

It should say a carrier next to all that info on the left. Under your reference number. If not ring apple and ask, They should know my now :)

it still says UPS but I don't think they run in Ireland. Note it also says ' address is remote area. Deliveries are not made daily. Delivery rescheduled', before ' in transit scan'. Oh dear

Yea thats a little weird!

Ring apple and ask for more info. Or prob best to ring UPS and see what that means etc
 
My deliverydate just got bumped to 6th from 4th on apples trackingpage, waiting to see what date UPS will give me... A long wait (ordered on the 14th).
 
Still no change on mine. Estimated delivery of today (ha, I wish) and ol' faithful in the delivery status: In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule.

Welll I got my shipped email today and Estimated Delivery Date has now dropped to 7th Nov from 14th Nov.
 
Well I just got off the phone with Apple and explained that my tracking status changes over the weekend. The lady said the mbp arrived in the depot on Saturday, was merged with printer and looks to have been handed over to the carrier yesterday. She had no tracking details on her screen yet though which she did say was strange, so she is sending a query to the depot to see if hand-over actually happened. I asked her if it hadn't been handed over yesterday should I realistically expect it tomorrow, and she said that she will also put a note that the packages must go out today and so yes - I should.

Also she will update me by email when she hears back from them.
 
Got it!! Got there in the end.

Can't open it until around 1pm though as am busy at work.

Next job is to have a go at AppleCare and get the start date adjusted.
 
anyone know how long it takes till tracking number starts working? My assigned carrier is UK DISTRIBUTION CENTER and current delivery status is "Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date" - estimated delivery date label above this is 31st Oct..
 
Mine is also out for delivery!!! :D

Just crossing my fingers for no dead pixels etc! Soooooo looking forward to my first mac as my 3.5 year old pc is dying on me and making weird cracking sounds ;/

Well I just spoke to what sounded like a very dozy American guy who tells me my MBP only got to the warehouse yesterday - they've NOT given it to the final carrier yet and I cannot leave them my new address - I have to ring them up once they've decided which carrier they'll use and they don't know when that will be!

Am seriously f'd off with this now - how hard is it to make a note on their system of the new address?!!!

At this point I'm starting to wish I'd never ordered one. :mad:

Has your status updated at all mate? Tracking number I got is still the same 808 number that doesn't work on TNT...

No it's still stuck on "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" for the 2nd time. The people on the phone seem to contradict each other and what is written on the tracking site (or at least the logical interpretation of what is written on the tracking page!)

Yep the tracking is a serious joke.. I reckon you'll still get it same day as me though. Your status will probably change by 5pm today and we'll get it tomorrow.

May I join your club? Mine says teh same, due tomorrow but not status change... perhaps later today. The half asleep woman on the phone said her records say the 5-6th, mine says 4th-5th, she said I should have a tracking number "by tomorrow" hmmmmmm

Weird I am the only one on here to get the status change this morning. Maybe they just updated mine to keep me happy as I do get a bit arsey when they go on about checking the status page. The track this shipment button should really be linked to this thread!
 
Yey, my delivery finally came today. Today is the day that apple estimated all along so it is neither later nor early. It is a perfect machine and I am now just getting used to her as I am new to mac. Hope you all get yours soon.

Got mine about and hour ago and I'm posting on it now.

Everything looks in good order and I was gobsmacked by the quality of the machine. Other laptops just don't come close.
The glass trackpad is great and for once with all the multi-touch gestures you can use a laptop with a track pad without ripping your hair out. I have set mine to pick up a single tap as a click, two fingers is a right click. Works great.

That's about as far as I have got, just installing WoW atm to see how it runs.

Thanks to all of you who have posted useful information in this thread, it's made understanding what was going on far more bearable.
