Sadly, mine hasn't changed either, still in transit to customer so not broken here.... my old mac sells on ebay in 8 hours! wahhh, bad timing on my part!

harsh times mate... still - we are all fighting for the cause...

i just HATE paying for something.... and not receiving it for 2 weeks :(

I ordered my Macbook Pro on 30th Oct and status today (2nd Nov) has changed to "Prepared for Shipment", that only took 4 days.

What's the next step? They putting it on a slow boat from China or what?

Me too, I know we are all whinging a little bit, but seriously, once it has been sent from Shanghai it shouldn't take more than three days max to get to our door. Apple need to rethink their logistics, also, they can't bang on about being green when they utilise so many steps in their shipping, how many is it now with all the ferrying between continental locale? 5? 6? then it comes to the UK? This merge in transit thing is not a good move, they need to ship pallet loads of new stock to their UK distribution centre, then package up peoples orders from there. They knew there would be a huge demand for the new product, ship thousands over to the UK ahead of the announcement! then we order a nano and MB, put them in a box in the post and you could do it within 48 hours EASY! not three bloody weeks and 10s of thousands of miles in all!

You will goto shipped and if you ordered a nano or printer you will join the circus and be "in transit" for well over a week. If you ordered it as a sole item you may get a UPS tracking number and be on the, relatively, fast lane to the UK.

Thanks to this forum I knew ordering anything extra would considerably slow down the delivery. So I just went for the laptop.

this merge in transit is very silly :( my friend at work got his mac pro delivery over 5 days...

builds up more excitement imho :)

if you build it - they will come...

... but if it fugging takes any longer (another week) they will go :p still £95 rebate here i come :D

I too have had an exception status put on my order. BTW I've just ordered one MBP, no peripherals. This will actually be my second MBP...

Anyway, can anyone help me make sense of that? The expected delivery date hasn't changed from 4th Nov, but I don't know how accurate that is/if it would change at all. Will I be waiting much longer?

where did you get the detailed info from? all i get is 'in transit'

If you click "track this shipment" on the Apple order status page, then take a look down the left hand side you should see a "carrier tracking number". Paste that into the UPS tracking site and you'll get much more in-depth info.

With mine, it looks like it went from China, to the Netherlands, then back to China. However the expected delivery date is still tuesday, so fingers crossed...

you sir are a legend :D

edit: don't have that... :( just have "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly."

Thats probably because you have ordered more than just the mac and therefore have the merge in transit shipping. you wont get any more detailed info than the apple page until it has been given to the final courier (probs tnt) after it has all been merged in the apple distribution centre in hinckley, leics.

I ordered my lot on the 17th, shipped on 24/25th and it should be going to the final courier yesterday or today with tracking number and delivery by tuesday at the latest.

not the best system that you can only track it right before its at your door but thats their system if you purchase anything other than just the mac

i think mine has been merged - because i had an email the other day with the serial numbers for the mac book and the ipod

hence my confusion...

...hmmm i think i need to go back to bed and restart my day :p

I was supposed to go and pick my laptop up in person from the tnt depot in Nuneton on Sat. On friday my tnt tracking told me that the location of my parcel was nuneton. I phoned that depot and they said that it hadn't arrived yet (so i don't know what the tracking is supposed to mean if the location is not right on it!!) and that it would come in over night. So I phoned sat morning and they said that it hadn't arrived. And that it was in Northampton so I phoned them and they said it was def at nuneton. It's just exhausting. Either it has gone to nuneton and then back to northampton to go back to nuneton or as the tnt lady told me they have prob lost it. It is too amusing to be annoyed. What a farce. I have to call them tomorrow to see where it is. How hard can it be.

The only advice I can give to those still waiting for the order to arrive is to not look at any tracking etc until a day or two before the estimated time given by apple because otherwise you will go nuts. The tracking often isn't right anyway so it can't be relied on.

cmatt, when did you order and when did it ship etc??

ordered at my dads (20th) on the south coast using my education discount (and a tempremental vpn connection to my work )

shipped last tuesday mate :) i await with baited breath! if it aint here by friday... ill probably kick off... but not much point atm :) its getting delivered to edinburgh at my work- so it is not like it is going to be delivered to the boonies

i think this is the longest ship time i have EVER come across :p

ouch :( at least it is usable! getting it replaced?

Well, I have to phone them first thing in the morning. I hope they replace it and not just repair it. Very annoyed. Just hope they don't offer me a repair and that the new one doesn't have a problem.

That sucks man! If i get mine tomorrow and its faulting i will cry my little eyes out! nearly 3 weeks of waiting to get a faulting machine is bad!

Keep us up to date with how it all goes :)

Waiting...

Still waiting for my 2.8 and nano but at least it's in the UK now.
Anyone have a clue s o how long it will take to et the package from Nuneaton to Glasgow? Just curious because its eta was 6th-7th of November and that seems a bit of a stretch since it's already in the UK.

My status reverted back to "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" from "Preparing handover to final carrier"... GREAT GOING APPLE!

with the likes of ebuyer - i tend to think the delivery time is actually inaccurate (in that the package arrives 2nd day after ordering even though you have paid for super delivery)

but that is because ebuyer despatch are efficient.... apple on the other hand, not too sure

you never know, our macs maybe transit buddies :p

If you have a tracking number ring TNT or UPS to find out.

Honestly wouldnt like to day. Most prob be the 6th TBH because havent heard of anyone getting theirs early.

To be fair. They have been made in China then shipped over in around 2 weeks. No THAT bad going really. Just all of us are naturally impatient :)
