The only thing more shameful than the phrasing of the article's title, is the people who got suckered right into it.
Absolutely textbook definition of 'click-bait' (and boy, did it work. Just read these comments)

Whatever they are doing.. I wish they do that by Feb or March...max May. Sept or Oct would be too late. They may loose actual fanboys to other brands.

The last piece of the Kaby Lake puzzle, the 45w part for the 15", won't even be paper launched until June so, no.

The price drop next year was enevitable. If sales disappoint, I believe it could actually come sooner? Maybe early Q2 along side the MacBook and iMac updates or around WWDC.

It's not just on here I'm seeing 99% negativity. They're getting torn a new one on their facebook ads for the new MacBooks too and it's all about price not the hardware. I think Apple truly miss-calculated here!

Considering there will be no official release of th 10 nano Cannonlake until mid 2017 I would say this "leak" is full of it and the earliest a Cannonlake computer from Apple would be in 2018.

Will they do a "refresh" like the 12" did a year later? That makes sense, but it wont happen until fall 2017.

Does this guy get paid to "leak" stuff?

Yeah same analyst that announcement need the iPhone mini or the low cost iPhone ?

Do you sincerely believe that in early 2017 Apple will upset all the crazy buyers of late 2016 MBP by giving more CPU, Ram AND cheaper price just few months later ???

I'm not an analyst but this is so wrong... keep dreaming :)

You must not have been on this board during the iPad Pro drama.

Because all of Apple's customers were so in need of 32 GB of RAM that they had to jump. Talk about delusions.

....was referring to the price cuts a.k.a. these MacBooks are so overpriced right now people are jumping ship to get laptops with equal specs for half the price.

This new MacBook release for me personally is pushing me go to a 2015 MBP refurb or a Dell XPS 15. Both around the $2000 CAD price range.

The XPS 15 ($2000) has the same specs as the new macbook (minus the touch bar, which I'm not a fan of) is $3499 which is insane

Ever heard of the iPad3?

Do you not feel even slightly embarassed to post something like that about a company with more money than the American Federal Reserve? I would.

Apple is now a cell phone company.
Nokia used to be the n1 cell phone company in the world and it disappeared in one transaction.

nokia, like motorola, like blackberry

money doesn't mean innovation

Tim is not able to run a company, especially a tech company

Yes! A price cut will be possible from a base model that comes without a discrete GPU, relying on Iris Pro, which might be sufficient if the next Intel's Iris Pro graphics.

Why is everyone so surprised about this? Apple has been doing this for years...expensive first gen product followed by price cut options a year after.

it was exactly like that when they released the first retina MacBook Pro...super expensive when it was first released

All these rumours of 'Amazing things to come'... is starting to sound like that plaque on the wall in a pub, that says: "Free drinks tomorrow!"

if this new MacBook pro line was a revolutionary laptop people will not be complaining about high prices, they would be in line buying it. Selling their house to buy them.

the problem is the high price for a half backed product

I would not want the new 13" Macbook Pro for free.

My current maxed out MacBook air is perfect as it is.
