Have to agree, I love the look of the mobile site and like it even better. Just logged on a few minutes ago and was ready to double tap the article, and actually did, before I realized it was already filling the screen. LOL

Looks better than the full site IMO. Good job! I like the forums too. Seems no reason to use tapatalk with forums as easily accesible as this. I do like tapatalk for other forums though.

Great design touches, I like it!

logo should look good on retina displays now.

and for click-to-enlarge images, that should work now. so you can zoom in.

Is their any way to add more threads to page 1 of the mobile forum?

currently the first page is over taken by Stickies (on the iPhone section), and I have to go to page two just to read other threads. Its not a big deal, but I figured it might be worth asking.

My Prefs -> Threads -> increase the # per page.

I just tried it. Does it have a stay logged feature? It feels incomplete for some reason. I may stick with a laptop for a while until I warm up to it.

I'm guessing this new mobile version is the reason why I'm now getting an error message when I visit MR on my phone.

I now get:

[errors fixed]

I've had that error for a few days now. As much as the new mobile version of the site looks quite nice in the screenshots, is there a way to permanently disable the mobile version with a cookie or something? I absolutely detest mobile/iPhone optimised websites on the iPhone and it usually stops me going to them if it always defaults to it because as far as I'm concerned, the biggest benefit of the iPhone is the full Safari browser. Amazon, hackaday, eHow etc all ruin the experience for me without a permanent way to switch off their mobile versions.

Hmm, this is much better now that i found the way to change some settings :p

The error message you're seeing is something we're aware of It affects a small subset of users, but we obviously need to fix it...just need to get a hold of arn to have him make the changes.

That problem aside, users should be able use cookies to toggle back and forth between the mobile version and the full version.

The first time you go to MacRumors on your iPhone (since we deployed the new mobile site), it should direct you to the mobile version. If you instead want the full version, click the link at the bottom of the page or just go to https://www.macrumors.com/?mobile=false and that should set a cookie that will take you to the full version every time you visit MacRumors.

If you wish to switch back to the mobile version, go to https://www.macrumors.com/?mobile=true (or tap on the "Mobile MacRumors" link in the left column of the non-mobile site) and it should remember to send you to the mobile version every time from then on.

Perfect! I used the mobile=false command and can now access MR on my iPhone again. I'll give the mobile site another try when it's working properly. :)

I have been having the same issues. Was going to post a screen shot, but mobile=false will work for now.

Very nice mobile site! One of the best I've seen so far! Keep up the great work.

The issue you guys were seeing should be fixed now, so feel free to give the mobile site a shot again. And definitely let us know if you're still having any problems.

Love the new layout. However, I find that users are only able to view six comments at a time. Considering that many MacRumors posts tally up comments in excess of 300 comments, I find this limitation frustrating. I can't help but notice that it also gives the website more "hits", generating more revenue from G'ads, but costing me a lot if data/money if I want to read anymore than 24 comments. Personally I'll be using appleinsider until it's fixed :p.

See arn's comment further up this page, #54.

Mobile Forums -> My Prefs -> Posts -> increase the # of posts per page, up to 30.

(side note: I wish people would realize that asking a support question or making a feature request and in the same breath accusing me of being greedy bastard and threatening to leave the site doesn't actually endear them to me.)

Yep, that worked. Thanks!
