For you guys plagued with leaking alkaline batteries - as long as you're using Duracell or Eveready and not some cheap-a$$ brand they have a no-leak replacement guarantee. Look it up on their website. I've had a 4 D cell Mag flashlight and a Fuji digital camera replaced for free when one of those cells leaked and ruined the item.

Just tried them all myself.

"Magic" Keyboard
- It's fine for what it is. Seems like a nice step forward except for now being able to pair it & use it with less devices (which is nuts). Bigger keys are nice, travel is ok. I'm a mechanical keyboard guy so it's never up my alley anyways.

Side note: Ridiculous name. Nothing "magic" about the keyboard at all - Calm down a touch with the naming rhetoric Apple.

Magic Mouse 2
- Ehh. I still don't like it. Just not comfortable for me at all. Nice to have built in battery now though. I haven't actually liked & used an Apple mouse since the Pro Mouse anyhow.

Magic Trackpad 2
- Seems even better than the previous version. Not sure it needed to be as wide as it is now, but otherwise a superb step forward. The best attribute of force touch to me is simply being able to left/right click anywhere at any time (as opposed to only on the bottom 1/3 of the previous model)

On both the KB & Trackpad it's also nice that they are a block "wedge" shape now. It seems like they both have an even sturdier feel than before as a result.

I'm not finding this on Amazon for some reason.

Edit: This being the Keyboard.
Edit 2: Found, but they're out of stock apparently. So no clue when I'm getting it.

Got the Magic Mouse 2 Monday this week but after trying the Magic Trackpad 2 I am considering getting this instead, will the Apple Store I bought it from exchange the mouse for the trackpad by just paying the difference does anyone know?

I don't see why they wouldn't, you have a return window and it sounds like you are still within it.

I got the keyboard today. I like the less travel of the keys. Still getting used to everything else. However, it does not map correctly. My volume keys do not work at all, and I have El Capitan. That is kind of sad. What is happening to APPLE?

Update. Keys work correctly when plugged in! Weird!

Im interested to see what you guys are thinking so far about the magic trackpad 2? It came with my new iMac and sometimes its frustrating to use - I feel like the click just isn't... satisfying enough..

I bought both the keyboard and the trackpad and returned the keyboard. Love the initial "cool" feel to it, but after extensive testing, I'm simply way more accurate and comfortable on my mechanical keyboard - I also found that I like to "rest" my hands on the keys a bit and almost "think" with my fingers a touch before activating the keystrokes and the new keyboard just registered it all and I was constantly deleting stuff.

On the trackpad, I'm surprised you don't like it - I really enjoy it more than the older model, especially how you can now click anywhere on it.

Really? Meanwhile I'm loving the keyboard hahaha

lol - To each our own, right?

Keyboards are such personal things (well, really all input devices I guess) and it seems like they really depend upon how you use them and what you're used to, etc. I really loved the concept, feel and size of the MKB, but ultimately, I simply like more key travel and more actuation force for whatever reason. I absolutely never use laptops, so I'm sure that probably factors in as well.

Oh I thought from reading the Mac Pro forum it could be used wired.

New Bluetooth card it is then

I've read and seen different things in online reviews. I just tested it myself with the wire and I turned off Bluetooth and they stopped working. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong? Because it seems like other people have been able to do it. Where as others say they can't

The cable DOES allow for totally wired and normal operation with no Bluetooth required. I can verify that 100% as I've been doing it on a Hack I have that l never even installed Bluetooth in.

Also, in my other machine, using it wired instead of with Bluetooth has resulted in much more consistently perfect and smoother cursor at all times. Gee Apple. Who knew? Lol.

I personally love wired input devices. 100% reliable. I'll be using my trackpad that way full time.

Definitely should work without Bluetooth. When I connect the trackpad to my iMac, the Bluetooth connection terminates automatically, and I can shut off the Bluetooth radio entirely and it continues to work.
