I have compared the 9CC5 vs the 9CC7 and yes the 9CC5 has more darker black, but nothing that extraordinary. I couldn't notice much difference between them if I had to compare the viewing angles and the vibrancy (is that a word? o_O) of the colours. I could say the same for the brightness, I haven't seen that much difference between them.

So the way I see it both are very nice screens, with the 9CC5 having darker black levels. And you discuss about how good it is to have darker black levels because that equals more reflections (aka mirror effect) along with the glossy screen.

One note though, my 9CC7 is calibrated and the 9CC5 isn't.

hi, how did you calibrate it and did you compare the 9cc5 with v1 or v2

Out of curiosity, I checked out display profiles of every 13" MBP at a nearby apple store (yes, the store clerks were looking at me funny by the time I was done). It appears that 9CC5 makes up the lion's share of the new 13" MBP panels. Of the dozen or so screens that I looked at, 2 were 9CCB and the rest were 9CC5. I saw no 9CC3, 9CC7 or 9CC9 panels.

Anyone else with a 9CCB? This looks better than my old BlackBook, but I never tried comparing it to other monitors in any stores. I tried the 9CC7 V1 calibration and like it.

i like v2 better

v2 looks better to me, still far from ideal though. the search continues for me, i guess ...

Just got my first Mac ever. 2010 MBP 13" and it has the 9CC7. The screen looks awesome to me! My buddy was over yesterday who has a 2008 17" MBP and he said my screen looked like it might be better than his.

Anyways, just thought I'd throw in my screen and follow the trend. :D:cool:

I thought I might give it a try, and post my own profile. It's for the 9CC7 displays.

Updated the file.

Default Color Profile

Just bought a mid 2010 13" Macbook pro and I have been playing around with color profiles. Can someone send me the default color profile?

I have done so many I think I may have saved over the original.

Thanks

You can't override the default one, only delete it.
What display type do you have?

I have a 9CCB and the blacks are true, and the colors are vivid.

9CCB has scan line issues.

I had 2 replacement 9CCB panels, and both times there were faint horizontal scan lines all over the screen.

If you do not see them, that is good for you.

Still, 9CCB was the most bright and color accurate panel than 9CC3/9CC7.

I have 9CC3 now and I am satisfied with it nonetheless.

Yes, 9CCB and 9CC2 panels have the scan line and Pixel-walk issues(AUO B133EW07 V.0 V.1).
It is terribile for me.

I only see two reasons why Apple would switch over to IPS screens. a) IPS screens become cheaper than TN's for the notebooks. b) People quit buying Apple notebooks because they don't incorporate IPS screens. Until then, ain't nothin' changin'.
