We need high colour gamut IPS. The iPad IPS display is good for reading text, but color not vivid.
I only see two reasons why Apple would switch over to IPS screens. a) IPS screens become cheaper than TN's for the notebooks. b) People quit buying Apple notebooks because they don't incorporate IPS screens. Until then, ain't nothin' changin'.

Anything for the 9cc9?

Anything for the 9cc9? I would like some love and calibration settings.

I got a LTN133AT09, 9CC7, a samsung panel.

I think it's worse than the panel of my mid 2009 mbp 13" (unfortunately I don't know which model) & I'm gutted. It's less bright, less responsive, worser in view angles & a little bit yellowish.

The worse response time is the thing I dislike most. Did you check this tests?
Here I get this results http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/response_time.php
A0, B -25, C -60, E -25, F -10, G +60, H +60.

And inversion (pixel walk) test: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php#invpattern
here the patterns 2b & 4b are flickering.

For instant the writing of this page is flickering a bit when scrolling http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490?viewlocale=en_US
I think thats not exactable with a pro model...

what about your LG-Philips-Panels or the Panels of the MBP 13" Mid 2009; are they better in response time & inversion?

I have the 9CC7 panel and my response time matches yours.
For the inversion test only 4b flickers on mine.

Also, I've tried the v1 and v2 9CC7 color profiles uploaded on this thread.
On default, I get a yellowish hue; with v1 I get a pink hue; and with v2 I get a blue hue.

Overall I am a little disappointed with my 9CC7 panel b/c colors appear to be duller than the panel I had on my previous 2009 unibody white macbook.
Can someone with a 9CC5 panel post their results? I am contemplating whether I should make an exchange.

Just got my new MBP a couple of days ago. I have 9CC9 panel. The colors are quite vibrant and crisp, but perhaps a tiny bit too warm.

Mee too. :D

9CC5=LP133WX3-TLA3
9CC3(B133EW07 V.0)is better

I've got a 9CC9 and the panel is excellent. Apart from the lower resolution, of course, it is a step above in terms of brightness and backlight uniformity compared to the two main panel types I saw in the various HR AG 15" I went through (had 5 different ones before I gave up and asked for a refund... the HR panels Apple use in the MBP 15 are various states of dog poo).

Those of you who have 9cc9 panels, do you notice any color distortion (especially in text) when scrolling? I began noticing it and it kinda bothers me. For example, black text on white background will get slightly blurrier and lighter during scrolling.

Hey guys, so I'm just following up on my 9CC7 panel after using it for two weeks.

I had a feeling that something was different the first time I started up my MB Pro. When compared to my previous white uni. MB, I noticed that the colors of the icons on the dock looked washed out or it looked as if the gamma was out of tune. It didn't really bother me at first but as I continued using it, I noticed colors such as yellow or green looked really washed out. An example of this is provided below:

The top image is one I took of my Samsung T220 (desktop PC), and the one below is my MB Pro (Windows 7 in bootcamp). If you look at the top left corner and the middle part of the folder icon it looks washed out. The green on the icon also looks like a pale sick green. Now I've already tried calibrating my panel using the built in software from OSX, but it still looks the same.

Doing further tests from http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
My MBP's screen brightness is set to 50%.

Contrast:
- on my Samsung T220 I can differentiate all the squares from each increasing brightness
- on my MBP the right most square 30 blends into 31 and 32

White Saturation Test:
- on my Samsung T220 I can differentiate all the squares except the very last one (254)
- on my MBP I already cannot see any difference from 247 onwards

I'm curious if this is a bad batch within their production or if all 2010 MB Pros look like this. Could others with different panel versions (9CC3, 9CC5, 9CC9, etc) also post which week their MB Pros were produced? I've read that the fourth and fifth digits of the serial number tells you this. Mine is W8027XXXXXX, so thats week 27.

This color issue is starting to annoy me now since I've spent a lot of money to upgrade from my uni. MB, having heard that the uni. MB Pros have a much better screen.

^ My MBP with 9CC9 panel appears to have been manufactured in week 26. In lagom.nl contrast test I can distinguish all squares. In the white saturation test only the last one appears to fully blend with the background. That's all with the default (factory) profile.

Anyway, I couldn't find any calibrated color profiles for 9CC9 so I am going to do it myself. Just ordered Spyder3Express. I'm kinda curious what the results will be.

I have a 9CC9 (its a Chi Mei).

The colours are awful. It is all red. Even after calibrating. The viewing angle is terrible.
The letters and everything looks a lot washed out. If I calibrate it to show letters good the picture of the earth looks like North America already had a nuclear war behind it and was all desert. Its just awful.

Also this is my second MBP. I returned the first because of serious scratches on the topcase. But this one also has a serious scratch below the keyboard.
On the first one the screen wasn't bad. But I don't remember which one it had.

I will return this one tomorrow, too. I'm not giving them 1200 Bucks for a scratched Notebook (note that a 550 Bucks Dell doesn't come with scratches) with a terrible display.

I have a 9CC3, witch assuming from this thread is turing out to be the best. It is BEYOND beautiful, the view angles are amazing for not having IPS, but i don't really care its 13" 10 people aren't going to be crowding around it like a 27" iMac. The blacks are outstanding, almost a perfect match of the bezel, near impossible to tell if its on or off when the screen is all black. The colors are vibrant and not too blue, but not too yellow either. Maybe a little lacking in red, but only so slightly that i don't really care. Might i add, UNCALIBRATED. Truly an amazing screen.

Base 13" here, 9CC5. Totally awesome after my Sony SZ (calibrated). Still no profile for this display?

Well, I used to have an LG display on my base 13" MBP, but my wireless card was flaky, so the Apple Store replaced the display/wireless card yesterday and now I have a 9CC7 Samsung. Gratefuly, my eyes, at 42, are not as good as you guys, since this display seems to look better to me than the other. I'll either have to live with it or update the color profile (unless Genius Bar did that already). I am not noticing any yellowing.

My refurb MacBook Pro 13" screen stopped working last night-screen all white and flickering. Since this was the second repair, the Apple Store replaced it with a brand NEW MacBook!

This one is an 9CC5 610 (LG Display). Very nice, but coming from the PC world, ANY Mac screen is great.

Last display was the Samsung 9CC7.

Has anyone yet created a colour profile for the 9CC9 panel? I'd really love it if one could help me out. The colours with this panel suck.

Any updates on the 9CC9 panel profile? I'm not totally happy with default calibration and I don't have any devices to do it on my own

Not around my MBP but I do remember that my was made the 29th week of 2010; does that collerate to a certain LED screen model????

Probably yes, but it's easier to determine the panel than to find out which panels were used during which weeks. If you happen to have a nice profile for 9CC9 please share as I just compared my new 13" MBP Pro with 3,5 yr old 13" Macbook and the old one looks WAY BETTER.

I have a 13" MBP with the 9CC3 display. It looks good but my iPad seems to have more accurate color. My MBP's 9CC3 display seems too blue in comparison. Can anyone create a profile for the 9CC3 display?
