My order shows prepared for shipment today as well

ordered on March 5th. I wonder when they'll ship? Its the middle of the day in Shanghai, so I'd think that we'd wake up to emails saying that they've shipped. I'm not really anxious; but I am curious how my X25-E will do in a 2.93 17" unibody -- it rips in my 4,1

Shipped

Got an e-mail from Apple this morning saying that the MBP 17" 2.66 7200 with antiglare screen had been shipped! I ordered it in the US on March 3. (and got an e-mail last Friday sayign that shipment would be delayed by four business days). It should be there on Wed., can't wait!
 
PCConnection says my 2.93 machine is still due to ship Wednesday. Apple have pushed the date to the next week every week on a Monday. I'm hoping that they finally pull it off this week. Cross your fingers for me!

My MBP is at the TNT depot, unfortunately they wont deliver it because they have missed placed an item within the shipping (apparently my MBP is fine) and are holding all deliveries to my resellers place because of their error.

I could keep swearing but its not going to help me here.

So close. Hey Blue! how's your order going?

'Bout to find out. I hope.

Update: Word is.... Serial # has been assigned. That is all.
Apparently meaning it's at least in the manufacturing process.

Well it's any bodies guess who gonna win the race between us....

Maybe my MBP was stolen on it's way.... Which I hope not but it does make one interesting race.

My life is going to be dull after I get it. I'll end up saying "yay!" and this forum will no longer be needed. Sadly I'm not looking forward to that. Strangley, I think I love the waiting.... Oh noes!

Anyway, I think you've got me beat. I guess we will know soon enough.

replacement..

TNT are picking up my 17 tomorrow (flickering screen) and the replacement is now on apple order status page, estimated delivery 30th march..

I am amazed to hear all these delays:

I went to the Apple shop in Exeter and got my 17" straight away...
 
Delivered at 9:00 AM -- is this thing really 3 Gb/s (SATA II/ 3.0)?

SATA 3.0? WTF? Is that right? W/ an X-25E + 8GB RAM... it'll be a few years b/f I worry about quad-cores being faster.

I don't care if the graphics card(s) go bad, or there's a dent or scratch or whatever (although, insofar as I can tell, its about as nice a laptop as I've seen and the quality of construction is no less than I would expect) and I need to exchange this thing. An exchange would be better than something else.

I didn't get it the day after I order -- but from China to my office @ 9:00AM is pretty impressive. I remain an Apple loyalist and appreciate the fact that Apple would delay delivery for a few to at least try to ensure that its not defective (if, in fact, that was the cause of the delay).

Keep on giving us the block rockin' beats Apple.

I just phoned the reseller and he told me that they expect the MBP 17" tomorrow to arrive (18th) at the store so hopefully... i cross my fingers:D:D

I did order also a seagate momentus 500Gb @ 7200 but they told me maybe it's not gonna fit in side the UMBP 17" they are not sure but are they right or..:(.

MBP 17" 2.66 320@7200 w/antiglare, ordered March 3, shipped yesterday, delivered TODAY in NYC! How about that for fast shipping?!? I'm at work so can't open it just yet, can't wait to get back home!
 
I am now the proud owner of my first MacBook. A 17" base configuration unibody has made it to at least one reseller in Dublin. It's beautiful. Gloss is not a problem. Size wise it's much smaller than other 17" machines I looked at. So far not a hint of buyers remorse.

My 2.93 Glossy 17" Macbook Pro shipped out with free UPS 2 day air today. It'll be in my hands Thursday. Thank you, PCConnection for sending it the second you got the delivery!
 
Ordered my first mac ever after being a lifelong PC user. I ordered direct from Apple 17"umbp all stock but added Aperture 2. Placed my order on the 12th or March and website said it would take 7 to 10 business days to ship. Now they say 5 to 7 business days so I'm hoping that speeds my order up a bit.

i have custom order and i placed it on 12th march as well. Its now prepared for shipment and i hope it will ship tomorrow morning
