It eases the pain knowing I'm not alone. Can't wait till I can put my hands on my new Mac. Until then I will continue my search for the best accessories to compliment it. :apple:

Yeah, I ordered on March 12th. I still have "ships 7-10 business days and delivery March 24-31, Not Yet Shipped". We should be next in line.

Business Day 7:

I find myself slowly losing my grip on sanity. No longer able to perform at my job, I've been reduced to reading other peoples tales of shipment tracking and unboxing on MR Forums and cursing them under my breath. I catch myself thinking out-loud asking why if China has the largest population in the world there aren't more people working on my computer? Randomly I scream as my work PC makes error noises with no error windows popping up, as if mocking me intentionally. Taking my two aleve with the sixth cup of coffee now, I rub my wrists to alleviate the pain from the repetitive motion of selecting the tab on my browser that has Apple's webpage up and logging in to check the status. "Not Yet Shipped" stares at me as if it was that bully at school who just kicked you in the nuts and is standing over you laughing at your misery. I wander the office aimlessly now, don't know if I can make it today...

A day after Apple told me that my order was delayed (I think it was business day 8 or 9) when I called for status, I got the "prepared for shipment", followed by "shipped".

In talking with FedEx, based on the time it spent in customs they expected it to not get to me until Monday. Checked this morning and it was still enroute to Indianapolis from Anchorage. Checked again around noon. In that span of time it got to Indianapolis, from there to Philly, from Philly to Mount Laurel, and from Mount Laurel to delivery exception because I wasn't there to sign. Which peeved me because every other time I get FedEx it's on the truck by 7-8am and not delivered until 3-4pm (when I would have been home)....this time it was on the truck at 8:14am and delivery attempt was at 9:02am!

So I'm stoked that it's finally here, but pissed that I have to wait till after 5 to go pick it up! Regardless....I feel your pain. Give it just a little more time, and the dominoes will start to fall, very rapidly for you.

Alas, the workday has ended and my umbp is "Not Yet Shipped." I go home a shamed and broken man. Maybe in the next couple hours my status will change. Don't know what hours they work till wherever my umbp is so we shall see. Come on Apple!

Ordered on the 14th. 17" UMB Glossy 2.93 7200. Upgraded to 2-3 day shipping. Still showing 7-10 days and "Not Yet Shipped."

So now that they're showing 3-5 days does this mean we "SHOULD" see them delivered earlier than initially projected? The wait is KILLING me!! :D

Wow...posting this on my new Macbook Pro. Picked it up from FedEx a little while ago and just now had the time to set it up and start playing around.

So far I'm incredibly happy with it. Much, much nicer than any of the other laptops I've had to deal with through work (Dell, IBM/Lenovo, Acer), the design and finish of the system are top notch. The more I play with OS X, the more I like it. Some things take a bit of getting used to, but some are just so darn intuitive.

My only gripe.....a single stuck/dead pixel. Thankfully it is in the lower left corner, maybe five or six rows of pixels from the edge, and only really noticeable if you're looking for it. I'll try one of those stuck-pixel fixing programs and see if it'll do any good. On the one had, I paid just barely under $3k for this machine (around $3300 with AppleCare), so it kinda bothers me. On the other hand it's one single pixel out of how many tens of millions, and in a place that would almost never be noticed (unlike my first HP L2335 monitor, with a bright green stuck pixel in the dead center of the screen!). I figure it can't be fixed, I'll just live with it. If it gets any worse I have AppleCare, there's no way to know if my replacement will have other issues (stuck pixels, fit/finish, etc) and with it being a custom order (2.93 processor and 7200 RPM HD) I'll be stuck with another 2-3 week wait.

Now to start finding all the apps I need!

I'm still getting "Not Yet Shipped". I ordered on March 12th. I would think Monday is the day that it gets prepared to ship.

You can with Fedex here in Aus all they will ask for is photo ID before you can pick it up :)

Ordered on March 14, 17" Glossy 2.93 7200, and just received SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION!! :D

Not sure if it made a difference, but I paid for the upgraded shipping.

finally!!

I ordered thru a reseller back in Jan 15th (yes im an idiot), fought with them during the on and off again dates that came up. I even called Apple Canada and they promised to get me the same config faster than what the reseller told me. In the end I just gave up and let the reseller deal with.
Currenty left China and should be here March 25th.
So glad I have a life...the wait would have been unbearable :p

I ordered March 12th and paid for the upgraded shipping but still have a Not Yet Shipped status. Maybe because I ordered the matte option? or I am having Aperture and Logic Express preinstalled?

Finally got my Macbook Pro 17" yesterday. After 8 weeks of waiting for the delivery. Got the BTO options 2.93GHz processor and 7200rpm HD.

Nice machine. Only thing that is bothering me is the vibrations from the HD causing a humming sound when the machine is sitting on the table.

Getting the machine that late caused a lot of trouble for me jobwise. But now everything is good.

Oh how I wish I was in your "pain-club" with shipment details, but still no news at all for me and approaching week 11 since I ordered at the start of JANUARY !!!

Hmmm... perhaps I should check and see if Apple still delivers in New Zealand or if they have closed shop here :( I will give them another 26 weeks and then I am cancelling my order ! By then there should be a newer model anyway :D

Come on :apple: Us NZ customers are real people too... Where's my 17" apple

Congrats! You almost got it now. I still have a "Not Yet Shipped" status and ordered on March 12th. I am thinking that having Aperture and Logic Express pre-installed is why it is taking so long to be shipped.

It has left China so I guess the March 25th date might come true. The reseller paid for the quick shipping out of their own pockets...like that made me feel any better knowing that people here have ordered two months later than me and might get theirs a week after :p
Not bitter but I learned something new...dont buy too early.
