I think it means you used a debit or check card, not a credit card. A credit card would show a pre-authorization just to confirm you have the credit and then charge you when the laptop is about to ship.

They’ve done the pre-auth a month ago.
I’ve place the order first at 11/01.
They now charge my card. I know what I have to pay.

If it is on his web banking page, as I understand this, then the money is in Apple's pocket now. The key is now whether his shipping status changes soon.

Ok so either this is a goose chase, or today others should be experiencing the same thing.
only president's day holiday in the US, most of these computers will be going to other countries anyway, like Europe and Aus, NZ etc And they dont have president's day holiday in China where they're coming from.
doesn't really matter, since if Apple doesn't work and hasn't shipped by then, then it would delay a day

yeah, often international companies have separate management that adhere to the customs of the locale
a) Apple China would work
b) Apple US probably wouldn't.
c) U.S. government, never
I don't pretend to know the exact arrangement that Apple has in China. I would be surprised if they have much direct involvement with the operation. I'm sure Apple has people onsite that work with the OEM, but the build, packaging, and shipment is all outsourced. US specific holidays have zero impact inside the factory (excluding parts delays due to the US holiday).
