I just noticed that if I configure a MPB 2.96Ghz 256 GB SSD with Matte I get 7-10 business days in the US Apple Store ... now that is a huge change ...

BUT if I do the same in the Swedish Apple Store store I still get 4-5 WEEKS

Now my question is WHY . how in the name of #€!€#%"#€! is there such a huge difference in delivery time in the two stores ... ??

Thats good new to us you pre-ordered with the matte...

I think today is the first day it has gone to 7-10 days instead of 2-3 weeks. Hopefully mine will ship prior to the 2/27 date. It seems like the glossy pre-orders with 2/19 date got shipped a week sooner. Hopefully this is the case with the matte.

I am glad to know I am not the only one out there checking the order status every 15 minutes.

Still shows 3-4 weeks on UK store.

BTW has anyone in the UK received their MBP?

Yeah people have gotten them in the UK.

Still no change with my status. Still "Not Yet Shipped". Estimated Shipping: Feb 19th.

:(

My package is spending 9 days in planes, trains and automobiles, shipping date is 17 and delivery on 26 in the Netherlands. Is this normal? Is there somebody that can top this one. Personally I find it an outrage.

I called Apple and of course they they told me this was normal, according to them all the deliveries are taking so long. Yeah right :apple:

i just checked two shipping notifications from last year for Macbooks and they both had 11 days between shipping date and delevery estimate.

Hi,

I've got the same problem. Mine shipped on the 16th and still says in transit to customer. I might get it on the 25th it seems. Did u order Applecare with it? Apparently this might be causing the delay since they need to merge them in transit!

Yep, unfortunately I ordered Apple Care and once ordered :apple: doesn't care about delivery times

But I also saw other people that ordered other products like remote but they are merged much quicker (like 4 days of transit).
Where is yours shipped? Maybe it's the destination country that is causing a problem

I'm in the UK...It's so frustrating not having the delivery status/tracking info update since the 16th...

It's even more frustrating that people in my country with the same shipping date already received their MBP. I should have ordered Apple Care later on. Also there is no warning on the Apple site that ordering Apple Care may delay your delivery. Why can't Apple send both shipments separately.

Yes, true. I would not have ordered Applecare if I knew it would delay the shipment...Can't complain much though as I got it for £50 through education discount :)

I'm not sure that apple care is the reason for your delayed shipment, I've seen several people who ordered the same config somewhat later than me and already received a shipping notice, seems like complete arbitrariness at apple's side.

Mine hasn't shipped, I haven't been charged, cancel isn't greyed out and it has yesterday as the shipping date. I feel so forgotten about. :(:(:(

I need a hug.

A glass and aluminium hug.

Well my unit arrived this morning at 10:30am - Seems the 23rd/Feb/2009 delivery date I saw earlier today changed a little while after my post here back to 20/Feb/2009 and well now I have it in my possession.

It arrived in perfect shape, no dents dings dead pixels scratches and all my Hardware that I ordered via BTO was fitted (2.93GHz CPU and 320GB 7,200RPM Drive).

I'm not exactly happy that they used a Hitachi drive, I don't really hold those in high regard but never mind. I have Time Machine and my old Hard Disk to fall back on if it x_x's out to the big magnetic storage heaven in the sky.

I ordered this Feb 4th to be delivered to the UK.

Gosh migration takes a while. 1 hour and 27 minutes ETA this is killing me! :D

mine to.
ordered 11 jan.
uk store

I ordered mine on Feb 3rd, though my initial order was Jan, I cancelled it and bought through the BA Store to get the miles, only made 2 days difference. Then BA bought a double miles promotion, so I cancelled the order again, and that just made 1 day difference, by then Apple announced the delay so everything ended up being purely academic.

Same here-so frustrating, had we known we could have had the same discount through an Apple Store.
I sent a revised order on 13 Jan (for 2.93 & 7200 disk), had shipped on 17th & 'In Transit' ever since. Next to shipping on schedule the date is 21st & I wonder if that's the date of the Applecare merge in UK
The Applecare bod yesterday was helpful & explained it was with Syncreon, Apple's carriers, & could not be tracked until everything was unpacked, 'merged' with software, remotes, & stuff & then handed to UPS for final delivery. With no extras MBP's are sent direct from China to individuals complete with tracking details straightaway & therefore a lot quicker.
It would really help Apple customer relations if this was made plain from the off. 'Appleman' reckoned Sunday or Monday before UPS details available, with delivery Wednesday or Thursday. I'm an optimist & reckon delivery could be Monday or Tuesday if they update tracking on 21st.
Good Luck to all of us waiting for SSD's & 'merging'!!!!

SSD orders

Yow. I believe this is the first post-Macworld Apple order I've placed where the date has come and gone (19th) without the status page rolling over to a later date. Still says the 19th.

We're boned.

Mine says At dest sort facility Boston at 6:12 this morning. What are the chances they sorted it and got it to the departure location before the trucks roll out this morning? Anyone know how this works, do all the packages come out and they put on another truck to go to pilot sort facilities and then to the individual trucks?

What are the ch

The problem is that mine is shipped but is taking 9 days to reach me. I ordered it on 14-1, it's being shipped on 17-2 and delivered on 26-2.

The status is that it is in transit and Apple cannot inform me where it is. They gestimate that it will pop up in Luxemburg somewhere next week. From there it will be send to Tilburg where it's handed over to UPS. Till that time the status will be "In transit to final destination - carrier details to be updated shortly." I consider 1 week time not as shortly.

Apparently this all has been caused by ordering Apple Care .

SSD orders

From Apple's Discussions:

"I ordered with 2.93 and 256SSD and my status shows Prepared for Shipment since morning." (He's referring to the 19th.)

Hmmmmm… a ray of delicious light has pierced our dark dark order status-checking despair… also, WHEEEEEEEE!
