Now 2 months since I ordered. The reseller can't tell me anything and Apple won't tell me anything because I'm not the reseller. Boy am I pissed off.:mad:

I just called Apple and they said even though it hasn't shipped yet I'll still receive it between the 11th and 16th. I'll believe it when I see it.

As I sense that shipping is imminent, I waste much more time worrying about when EXACTLY it will ship.

I think I need to meditate for an hour, or maybe medicate myself silly for awhile.
 
Still no UMBP here :mad:, ordered on 12 Feb. at a local :apple:pro reseller here in the Netherlands. They told me it would arrive in the second week in march. So this is the seccond week in march:D but no UMBP here the sales man when i called looked for the estimated date but there was nothing showing. But he told me that doesn't say anything it happens often that they recieve the goods even when the computer says not shipped, must be a PC :D. He told me that :apple: said it would be arrive this week. Should i trust this or...:confused:
it's gonna be a UMBP 17" Glossy, 2,93 GHz, 8Gb, 320Gb 7200rpm. (500Gb 7200rpm will be fitted at reseller)

I hear ya. This is my first Mac ever. My software is here (Photoshop, Office, Fusion, etc) and I'm just watching it collect dust. :(

I'm with you. I've had my software since January. I'll need upgrades by the time the computer gets here. Original order with reseller was 1/16, cancelled and ordered with Apple last week (3/4), and have my fingers crossed that the shipping estimates are accurate (or that it will ship early).

I worry that my timing sucked, though, and now Apple is going to be a little slower on direct orders as they try to catch up on reseller orders.

FYI, it's almost 8am, March 11 in Shanghai, right now.

Three, actually. Atlantic City, Cherry Hill, and Marlton. All told me exactly the same thing:

"We're sorry, sir, but we only carry the stock base model. If you're looking for anything else, you need to order through the website". All I wanted was the 2.93ghz processer and the 7200 RPM drive, and I have to say I was a little surprised that the Apple Stores don't stock even just the base faster processor. Not a "bring thy pitchforks and torches!" to any stretch, just....not expected is all.

So I am stuck waiting for my very first Mac AND very first laptop owner experience. :)

I ordered mine February 2nd and it's still not shipped.

Today is my 7 day and it just changed to prepared for shipping
Good sign so far saved by the bell.
Ill have to check tomorrow if it shipped.

I just talked to a sales guy from the :apple:store.
He told me that the resellers don't order their products directly at the :apple:store but by the distributor, (Techdata for the Netherlands)
The distr. usually wait until they have a big order and then they order it. 1st extra delay. Then they are gonna build the machine 7-10 days. Then the shipment from :apple: to distr. (3-5 day's). Then the shipment to the reseller (1-3 day's) 2nd extra delay. So the guy told me i could expect that the time will be min. 3-4 weeks after ordering i would recieve a call from the reseller when the machine arrives. Damm thats much longer than directly at the :apple:store. :mad:

But if i count the days it should arrive soon :D
 
well after waiting and waiting and waiting and, you guessed it, waiting some more for my pre-ordered matte + stock to arrive (via a reseller), I finally ran out of patience this morning and resolved to buy a standard glossy, which is in stock at my local Apple Store (melbourne). told the sales guy, in a casual kind of way, that the glossy wasn't so bad, but that i really wanted the matte screen... lo and behold, they had one sitting in stock.

seems that the Apple Stores, atleast this one, are not just stocking the standard model. mind you, i had called this store previously, including as late as this morning, and been told on both occasions that the store only had the standard model in stock. just got lucky i suppose!
 
First of the custom orders have arrived at my local reseller in Ireland. No word yet on the standard spec ones but he hopes that with custom orders shipping to him now he might have the stardard spec ones next week. Apple really know how to break the spirit of their resellers.

I am in the same boat. My replacement anti-glare is supposed to be delivered march 10-16, but nothing yet... order status states prepared for shipment and apple customer service says that it should be shipped very shortly, but I have my doubts.
 
Given that the only FedEx Flight bringing packages from Shanghai to the US leaves at about 9-9:30pm Shanghai time, and it is currently 4am in Shanghai, I'm guessing my "prepared for shipment" may not change until shipping documents are sent to FedEx, or FedEx picks up, which they have been doing there during early afternoon according to tracking logs posted by others.

I'm hopeful mine will ship today, then hopeful it will arrive Friday without a hitch. We'll see.

As I said previously my ordered stated 5-7 business days for shipping. Today is the 7th day, jsut got off the phone with Apple and it doesn't look like its going to ship today. The weird thing is I didn't receive an email and the order status hasn't changed to 7-10 business days??? I asked the apple rep and he stated there didn't appear to be anything wrong with my order.

Anyone else experiencing problems like this?
