Ordered on the 26th febuary from Norwegian apple store.
Matte, 7200rpm disk.
Estimated delivery 16-17th.

Received email on the 3rd march, stating delivery date 12th March (btw. no change on apple store order status)

Have been following the order on TNT's pages since then.
Looks like I'm receiving my precious today, she is in a truck rolling inexorably towards me as I type. Just under a week earlier than Apple's quoted delivery time! (and, btw, apple store still lists her as "Delivers: 16 Mar, 2009 - 17 Mar, 2009")

Mine is now sitting at the Fedex facility but its not shipping until tomorrow. Just to make my life absolutely miserable Apple placed a request that Fedex attempt at least one delivery..........So I cant go pick it up.

Ordered my matte 2,93 7200 on the Swiss Apple Store on 9 February, exactly a month ago today.

Original delivery date was 26 March but got moved up to 9 March (TODAY!!).

Since last week, I've constantly following its progress with TNT. It's actually in Geneva right now, only about an hour's drive away.

I'm crossing fingers and toes that they get it to me today. Life would be good, although I don't expect I'd get much work done.

I just came back from a short weekend trip and was positively surprised that it is out for delivery Only two days from China, that's FAST!!! It's the matte version, too!!!

Ordered mine March 4 in the U.S. (2.93, 320(7200), 4GB, glossy), but hasn't shipped yet - but would still be sooner than estimated if they ship today or tomorrow, so I'm still hopeful it will arrive earlier than estimated (I asked for 2-day FedEx shipping).

No worries Like I said, no promises - but had a very good hunch it was going to be much faster.

thats because you ordered Applecare or an accessory with your machine, such as a bag or adaptor. This adds 5 days to your delivery time because they have to meet up in transit in your home country.

It's coming tomorrow - Beat my original order estimate of 21st. Which was then cut to 12th, which is now down to the 10th. Adding Apple Care most definately did not add 5 days to the order. It's good that they're flying out now, though fingers crossed over the video-glitching issues a lot of people are having...

Same configuration as you, even asked for the 2-day shipping! Ordered March 6th at 11am in the US, current quote for delivery is between March 18th and 25th. I hope it does ship more quickly than that, though....

Joy!

It finally arrived this afternoon, a month to the day since I ordered it.

After reading various posts around here for the last few weeks, I don't mind saying I was close to expecting it to blow up as soon as I hit the power button, but no! It's been running like a dream. I've spent all evening installing stuff all over the place and enjoying myself greatly.

This thing is quite simply amazing!!! I've got a long work meeting on wednesday so it's going to get its first full workout then and between you and me, I can't wait!

And you know the weird thing? I still have this weird craving for a 12" G4 Powerbook. Go figure.

Well, it came today around 4pm. After all the horror-stories on this board I seem to have been lucky since I got my 2.93Ghz matte MBP 5 days after I ordered it.

Most important observations:

- The screen is GORGEOUS. It hurt my eyes when I went back to the other one transferring my data.

- The machine is SILENT. Even if i make use of the two processor, the fan is really quiet. The only thing making noise is the superdrive when you use it.

Well it's here now

Screen is incredibly bright and vivd - I don't see any dead pixels yet and no scratches/marks. Overall, more-or-less perfect condition wise.

Will be running stress tests later to see if I get an GPU issues, but so glad it's finally here. My trusty old 15" Powerbook can now be put to rest as an iTunes library.

Ordered on the 1st, and received today. Very pleased.

This is my first Mac and I'm really excited about it, but had a disappointing experience at my local apple store. I called them to ask whether they had the 17 inch in stock in anti-glare, and they said they did. I went all the way there to buy it onyl to be told once there that they never sell the anti-glare from the store and that it had to be ordered from the net. It was a real waste of my time, and it was not because I had not enquired before, quite the contrary!

Aaah can't wait...

Still waiting for my 17" MBP

I ordered my 17" MBP on Jan. 11th through a reseller in Belgium and I am still waiting for it to arrive. Called already a couple of times and I always got the answer that they have no information. After pushing a bit I got this stupid answer that the 17" MBP CTO (because I ordered the faster CPU and the faster HD) are only started to being produced this week and that I'll have to wait another 10 days at least (no promises). I don't understand these resellers. Don't they have a clue that they are low priority in delivering these machines to customers. I am waiting 2 months now since I ordered it and it's starting to become ridiculous. I can't even track if it's ready for shipping or anything. I'll never, ever order through a reseller again.

Still waiting for my shipping status to change.

Original 5-7 business day shipping estimate that would suggest actual shipping would be Wednesday-Friday, but still hoping it will go out today (a day early).

It's a bit after 1AM in Shanghai, and unless the manufacturer is working the child slaves overnight , I imagine it will be a few hours before I am likely to learn whether my system shipped today.

A few days ago, someone pointed out that shipping estimate on USA Apple Store website has been changed back to 7-10 days on new orders (happened a day or two after I placed my order with a 5-7 day shipping estimate).

It's gonna be a looooong day.

I was upset at Apple about this, but had to cancel my reseller order and get one directly from Apple to have any hope of getting it in time to start some work I've been putting off until my new MBP arrives.

It occurs to me that another reason to delay shipments to resellers is that it makes damage control a hell of a lot easier if it turns out there's a big flaw in new products that excited hard-using early adopters turn up shortly after release. In that event, it's better to release to direct buyers first, so you can delay release to resellers in the event that there's a problem, and have some hope of addressing any major issues before the problem grows too big to handle.

So far, there are a handful of people talking about display/graphics/fan/temperature related issues, but it doesn't seem to be a huge groundswell, so hopefully Apple will really get caught up on shipments to resellers, as rumor suggests they should this week.
