After trying a few of the profiles posted, one looks too red, one looks too light with too much contrast and another looks too bright / cold (although i do quite like this one).

I've just posted mine, but i will try some prints later on and see what the results are like.

Mine's probably the bright and cold, did it on max brightness, what can I say, I like it bright..

Yours is definitely warmer than mine but I'm not sure of your panel #.

Its a 9C84.

I did mine on max brightness too, I do prefer it bright. I'll post later on and let you all know how the prints turn out.

Gamma 2.2. 9C84 display. Native White Point.

Spyder2Pro calibrator.

Seems less red compared to others posted.
Yours is the one I've decided to stick with, thanks. Even though my choice is pretty arbitrary and totally based on personal preference, I feel a little better that some science is behind the settings, so again, thanks, and thanks to everyone for helping those of us without calibration equipment.

I have a profile that i downloaded when the previous macbook pro came out. It has been my favorite since then. I tried to post it but for some reason I can't. If you'd like it PM me your email address and I'll send it as an attachment.

Not a problem.

Have you tried zipping it?

Has anyone got a bright/cool profile that they use on a 9C85 that they could post?

I had a new 2.53ghz MBP that I loved the screen on, but decided to go for the 2.8.... I received the new one today and the display looks terribly yellow compared to the 2.53. Maybe the 2.53 model had a different screen as copying across it's profile didn't seem to make much difference.

Thanks,

Tom

Not sure where to send it but some how in the send to like my idisk it changes. Doesn't seem to be an .icc file. Anyways I can email it. I think its a great profile. (Not mine I didn't do it. Not sure who did) Someone send me PM with their email address and they can post it for me

Right click, compress file, and attach it here under "manage attachments".

double tru man. dr shdw's profile does indeed look the best to my eyes as well... good job man!

Thanks for posting profiles. Definitely much better then the crappy one mine shipped with. Even better then what I was able to calibrate and is very nice to know that actual professional instruments were used vs. my eye.
:apple:

9C84 Panel Here. Nice to know I got a good panel, especially after the great Dell panel lottery on my 2007WPF

Here are two of mine. Done with the 9C84 display, gamma of 2.2, and white points of native and 6500K. I would recommend the native white point one, it's what I use.

These were done with an x-rite eye one 2 hardware calibrator and Coloreyes Display Pro software.

I think these two are the best looking of the 9C84 ones posted so far.

bcaslis, any particular reason you recommend the native one over the 6500K one?

It's personal preference. If you want one that "looks" better, the native white point will look correct immediately. The 6500K will look too red at first although your eyes will adjust to it over time. It would be better to use if you are trying to match color to a printout if you have a color managed flow, but if you are really trying to do that you shouldn't be using a notebook display anyways.

I really with I had a new MBP to calibrate...sell my current for a new one? I think it just might be time!

i gotta say i have been jumping between your native profile and dr. shdw...

and i have been leaning more towards yours... its warmer and reminds me more of my calibrated samsung 750 tv, :). i gotta say good job to both of you, :)
